Blogger Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney (Turtleboy) released an extensive statement on Twitter on Saturday about how his current incarceration was impacting his family life while taking no responsibility for actions leading to the revocation of his bond.

The former leader of the Free Karen Read movement wrote:
“Today was my 6 year old son’s first basketball game. It was something I’ve been looking forward to for a long time. I missed it because someone made up a lie about me with no evidence. I missed it because I asked questions to cop killers, peacefully protested, and exposed corruption. When my kids ask where I am and say that they miss me it’s a reminder that the person and people who did this chose not only to hurt me, but to hurt them too. They wanted to wish their dad a happy birthday and didn’t understand why I couldn’t return their messages- I was putting on an orange jumpsuit. They wanted to know why I couldn’t be there to open presents on Christmas- daddy was a fugitive because a bad person made up a lie. I will be fully exonerated and come back stronger than ever, but I will never get a chance to see them open their Tatum & Brown jerseys that we are going to wear to a Celtics game that I got them tickets for in the spring. I will never see his first basketball game. They may think they are hurting me, but what kind of person wants to hurt children? God is testing me and my faith will carry me through. I look forward to court in Dedham at 9am on Monday to begin the process of reuniting with them.”
Kearney is currently being held as his bond was revoked for multiple felonies of witness intimidation, conspiracy and picketing in relation to his actions as the leader of the so-called “Free Karen Read” movement over the summer. He was arrested last week after a weekend long manhunt after he allegedly assaulted a girlfriend.
His statement does not address the alleged assault on the girlfriend by the married Turtleboy and directly blames “lies” by others for the circumstances that have seen him held in prison for nearly 10 days.
Kearney broke news as he claims to have a bond hearing scheduled on Monday, January 9, 2024. The YouTuber and blogger is currently being held without bond and his attorney had promised last week that Kearney would soon be free.
Incarceration has not limited Kearney’s on-line presence as he has freely been able to have tweets and Facebook posts posted by associates and his Turtleboy website continues to feature new material.
In related news, Karen Read’s attorneys filed on Friday motions to dismiss her murder trial and have sanctions issued against Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey leading to the disqualification of Morrissey as lead prosecutor in the Read case.
At issue are public statements Morrissey made last year vouching for prosecution witnesses in the Read murder trial following a series of protests lead by Kearney at the homes and businesses of witnesses in the case. The defense is seeking his removal from the case as part of their continued attempts to impeach witness credibility and have Read’s charges dismissed.
Read is accused of killing Boston Police officer John O’Keefe in January of 2022. Turtleboy has remained a vocal support of Read’s even from jail and has indicated he will continue to support the accused murderess if he is released from incarceration.
