Sometime advocate for the homeless, free-range grandmother and self-described sovereign citizen Regan Benson was found guilty by a jury of her peers on Thursday after a two-day trial for a single charge of violating Colorado Revised Statute 18-9-313(2.7).
The statute reads: “It is unlawful for a person to knowingly make available on the internet personal information about a protected person or the protected person’s immediate family if the dissemination of personal information poses an imminent and serious threat to the protected person’s safety or the safety of the protected person’s immediate family and the person making the information available on the internet knows or reasonably should know of the imminent and serious threat.”
Benson was charged with the crime after a September live stream where she wrote advocated for a “pig roast” at the house of Denver Police Commander Joel Bell’s house and requested his “real address” from her side chat, which then made the information available.
Bell filed a complaint against Benson and while it took a few days for the warrant to be issued, a warrant was issued and Bell sought a protective order against Benson. Benson was informed by her lawyer that there was a warrant for her arrest, and she turned herself into the police on another livestream on her channel.
As previously reported, leading up to the trial, Benson made numerous posts attacking the assigned judge in the case, calling him out for his biases against her.
The two-day trial saw the first day of the trial blocked from a public livestream due to the police officers testifying and fear for the safety of those officers. Benson herself highlighted the second day of testimony with a lively performance when questioned by her attorney, only to retreat into a shell while questioned by the prosecution.
Part of Benson’s testimony included her statement that she had been previously doxed and that the person who doxed her included a real threat towards her children. Almost tearing up, she recounted the fear she felt by that person’s actions.
Benson did not allow Commander Bell sympathy for her actions as she made it clear that the distribution of his information along with the “pig roast” comments were “in jest” and that no one in her chat would actually act on her command.
The YouTuber had previously stated that she would be found guilty of the charge and would appeal it. Grounds for that appeal may be the fact that her attorney was not allowed to include the on-going debate about the constitutionality of Colorado Revised Statute 18-9-313(2.7).
The jury deliberated for a little under two hours before returning a verdict. Benson and her attorney were the first to return to the courtroom before the verdict was announced. She remained stoic as the verdict was read and offered no real reaction as it was read.
Benson’s sentencing hearing is set for May 8, 2026. As Colorado Revised Statute 18-9-313(2.7) is a class one misdemeanor, she could face up to 365 days in jail, a $1,000.00 fine or both. Benson is currently out on a PR Bond.
This is a breaking news story.

She was found guilty, cause she committed the crime? Folks, don’t do the crime if you cannot do the time. Its not okay to dox her but fine to do so and threaten a cop?
Geepers, so many questions, so hard to understand. Oh and the not only was the judge bias, the jury was too.
Since the law is under challenge you should be able to tell that to a jury to confuse them. Since near tell every law is under challenge. We should not decide this case on the facts but on mere whim and wonder. Its a unicorn. She will appeal and… then they will hopefully give her a taste of what is to come in her future if she continues down this path.
Fraudititor push and push until they cross the line and end up in jail. How long for Earl? Another 17 years? How long for all the others. So many to name too many to remember.
