Colorado based sometime activist for the homeless Regan Benson returned to YouTube on Monday with updates to her pending charges of trespassing and failure to leave a building when asked in an Arapahoe County courtroom.
Benson was arrested last month at the Englewood, Colorado, Civic Center when she attempted to address the Englewood City Council during the public speaking portion of their city council meeting while livestreaming on her phone.
Livestreaming, under the current rules of the City Council, must be done from the back of the city council chamber in a designated “press” area. While this rule is almost never enforced by the city council, on that day it was.
Benson took the podium, her time started and Mayor Othoniel Sierra began to address her. On the video feed streamed by the city council on their YouTube page, he can clearly be heard telling her that recording was not allowed.
From Benson’s video, which was livestreamed to her channel, Sierra’s words can be barely heard as Benson continued to talk, insulting members of the Englewood police force and government.
Police conferred with the City Attorney, Tamera Niles, and eventually a group of officers escorted Benson from the building and into a police car. She was held for around 45 minutes before receiving citations and released.
Benson also received an exclusion notice, banning her from the building for 90 days, which is currently suspended as she appeals the notice.
The free-range grandmother was sure that the charges would be dropped leading to her initial court appearance on Monday, however, that does not appear to be the case based on her statements today.

I truly have no clue what they think they’re accomplishing aside from the process being the punishment, again. But I suppose this case can go to trial too and I can get another jury that falls asleep during trial and convicts me.
Englewood has now arrested me three times, the two previous cases dismissed in the form of bogus warrants. This latest case is for trespassing and interference for making public comment at the city council meeting.
Apparently I’m not allowed to make public comment at public meetings during public comment time and when told to stop talking, I am to stop talking and if I don’t, I’m trespassed and if I don’t leave, I’m arrested.
Ironically, I’m currently suing Englewood in federal court for the two past civil rights violations. The federal judge has said that yes in fact, my lawsuit will proceed.
So I guess this all makes sense, just keep arresting me Englewood. It’s not your money and you have full qualified North Korea immunity now led by Chief David Jackson.
