Free range grandmother Regan Benson went live in downtown Denver on Wednesday evening during a heated confrontation with a representative of Shadows of Babylon, a rival YouTube channel which the sometime activist for the homeless has accused of stalking and bad mouthing on livestreams.
The irony was not lost on viewers as Benson insulted the man, who appeared to be in his mid to late 40s who was balding with long stringy brown hair, commenting on his appearance and making fun of his disability. The man said he was blind in one eye as a response to Benson, who refused to apologize.
She went on to scream that the man was acting inappropriately with a gang of young men and had been propositioning women in Englewood, despite the man claiming to be married in Shadows of Babylon broadcasts.
Benson and the man apparently started their verbal conflict as Benson stopped to record a medical health emergency with the presence of fire and police units at the scene.
According to Benson’s account, the representative of Shadows of Babylon jumped out from behind and startled her, resulting in the confrontation. She later had words with a civilian first responder, muttering to herself as she was told by police that the first responder did not need to identify himself to Benson.
Benson would get in a few parting shots at Shadows of Babylon, egged on by members of the live stream’s side chat. She seemed happy that the proprietors of the channel recently lost their public housing in Englewood, Colorado, and claimed that the group had sent people to photograph her buttocks as she chalked in Englewood.
After the confrontation with Shadows of Babylon resolved, Benson returned to her car, where she would update various news stories in the world of Regan Benson.
Benson spoke out against Colorado’s temporary 90-day pause of the presumption of livestreaming in Denver criminal courts. Chief Justice Monica Marquez issued a directive early this month that leaves livestreaming up to individual judges to decide to allow if appropriate to their cases.
Marquez stated bad actors hacking or misrepresenting themselves as legitimate participants to disrupt virtual proceedings as reasoning for the ban.
The decision is in conflict with a 2023 Colorado state law that mandates that criminal court proceedings must be publicly livestreamed unless certain findings are met on a case by case basis.
Benson noted that the majority of the first day of her criminal trial earlier in the year was not live streamed.
Finally, Benson claimed that she was having difficulties with the filing of her appeal in Denver.
Earlier this year Benson was convicted of doxxing a police officer and was sentenced to jail time. Benson immediately put in her appeal of the verdict and sentencing.
According to Benson, the transcript of the first day of the trial is missing and good portions of the audio transcripts of the second day were inaudible. Again, according to Benson, exhibits were missing and her attorney has filed a motion to settle the record.
Benson again used racist nicknames to mock Judge Isaam Shamsid-Deen, continuing her reputation as a wholesome free-range Denver grandmother.

I guess we have us another Denver County Court (Judge Isaam Shamsid-Deen) and friends problem.
It goes like this on appeal:
“1. On August 8, 2026, the clerk of the county court transmitted the record on appeal to the district court and notified the parties of the same. 2. Upon review of the record, the Defendant-Appellant hereby submits her objection to the record and alleges it is inadequate for appeal. The Defendant-Appellant has designated transcripts necessary for resolution of the issues on appeal pursuant to Crim. P. 37(a)-(b). The transmitted record does not truly and completely disclose what occurred in the county court. Moreover, the record does not include all the materials designated in the Notice of Appeal and required pursuant to Crim. P. 37(c).
- As stated above, the Defendant-Appellant is entitled to a complete transcript of the proceedings below and for the record to consist of all the materials enumerated in Crim. P. 37(c). Presently, the record is missing the majority of the first day of trial, including jury selection, any swearing of the jury, any admonishments to the jury, opening statements, testimony from all of the prosecution’s witnesses, and all objections and evidentiary issues. The second day of trial includes four important inaudible portions. Further, the record does not include any video exhibits offered or accepted at the motions hearing and relied upon in this courts ruling (Exhibit 1, Exhibit D, and Exhibit E). Moreover, the record does not include offered exhibits E and P or the exhibits tendered to the court starting on TR-03/26/26, p.169. appellate counsel is unable to properly raise issues related to jury selection, opening statements, or the prosecution’s case without a complete transcript of the first day of trial.
Moreover, appellate counsel cannot review and raise issues related to this Court’s rulings on motions, including motions on the right to freedom of speech under the United States and Colorado Constitutions, dismissal of the charges, and the constitutionality of the charge at issue, without review of the exhibits relied upon by this Court in making its decisions. Additionally, appellate counsel cannot effectively review and raise issues related to the exhibits or decisions at trial without access to the exhibits tendered and accepted at trial, including those relating to the issues discussed at TR-03/26/26, p.169. Similarly, the appellate court cannot effectively rule on issues related to the motions hearing or exhibits at trial without access to the exhibits.”
