Free range grandmother, Denver area homeless activist and all around swell gal Regan Benson livestreamed from outside of Englewood, Colorado on Thursday as she shared her glorious news that long time nemesis, Englewood City Manger Shaw Lewis, had announced his retirement effective August 31, 2026.
Benson is currently suing Lewis and other members of Englewood’s city government over a supposed harassment campaign, different from the individual harassment campaigns she says that are in place in Denver and nearby Sheridan, that saw her briefly banned from Englewood city council meetings.
Lewis himself is not without controversy as he received a one-week suspension last year after being accused of violating Colorado’s Fair Campaign Practices Act. Lewis was recently exonerated by the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office, which dropped the charges against him.
Benson’s adversarial relationship with Lewis, who has served seven years in his role, centered around his controversial “code of conduct” that he put in place for all of Englewood’s city properties.
The YouTuber claimed that those practices were unfair to the homeless as they included rules on hygiene, which prevented homeless people – who often do not have access to adequate facilities to bathe – from taking part in supposedly publicly available services.
According to published reports, Lewis will split his time between working on his family’s ranch in Texas and working with Denver-area nonprofits focused on homelessness and youth empowerment.
Benson was overjoyed by the announcement by Lewis, happily gyrating in her vehicle as she addressed her fans outside of the Englewood police department on a livestream. The free-range grandmother would then get out of her car to follow up on efforts to remove a beer can she saw in the shrubbery outside of the building at her last visit.
She said that she filed a complaint about the presence of the can, which had since been removed, as it may have proved that police were drinking on the job.
Benson also shared her outrage as a female Englewood police officer had recently blown kisses at her from her squad car in an apparent effort to sexually harass the 50-plus year-old grandmother. Benson accused the woman of providing sexual favors to her fellow police officers and continued her suggestive langue throughout the course of the livestream.
The July 4th holiday was also on Benson’s mind as she has organized a Denver-area outreach program for the homeless on the day. She claims that she will be holding a cookout for the unhoused while redressing her government on the day.
Benson showed photos of homeless outreach bags that she claimed were prepared for distribution at the Saturday event and encouraged her supporters to donate to her 501(c)(3) organization before gleefully ending the livestream.
