Attorney Andrew Case, filing for SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes (LIA), indicated that his client would be filing an amended complaint in his lawsuit against the New York Police Department before the January 22, 2024, amendment deadline.
The notice comes a day after the defense in the case asked for a judgement on the pleadings of the case and a dismissal of all LIA’s claims. LIA’s response to that motion is due on January 23, 2024. It is unclear how the two will impact each other as the NYPD is seeking judgement on current claims while LIA will presumably argue new claims in his amended complaint.
A joint update by both parties is due on January 18, 2024, with an update expected to cover if the Defense still wants to pursue a jury trial and if both parties felt that mediation services would be helpful in resolving the case.
