There will be at least one more official hearing in the probation revocation saga of Lane Myers after a jam-packed Monday hearing that saw the Court schedule closing arguments for Wednesday which will be followed by a written decision by Judge D. Douglas Metcalf.
Monday’s hearing came after a tumultuous weekend where Myers threatened reporters who repeated Metcalf’s claim that Joey Paine, an alias widely associated with YouTuber Josh “This is a Public Service” Grey, worked for or had been associated with his company.
For some reason that notion that Joey Paine, who if not Grey had no restrictions on associating with Myers, enraged the bicycling enthusiast and air conditioner repair man.
He directly threatened possible reporters making a statement in an audio address released to Blue Line Transparency’s channel Sunday night:
And if you’re sitting out there saying that, you’re defaming me. And I will find out because because the internet is forever. So you will be held accountable for for just because Metcalf said it doesn’t make it true.
And so if you think that because Metcalf said it, that means you can say it. Well, you’re in for big problems when I get out of this shithole. Because I’m gonna sue everybody that is is is saying that because it’s It’s badly false.
Myers’ promise to directly confront Judge Metcalf over his alleged “defamation” did not happen on Monday as Metcalf seemed troubled by the leisurely pace that Myers defense seemed to be taking with its presentation and statement that he’d like to see Monday as the last day of testimony in the case.
Attorney Mark “The Shark” Resnick, who now advertises himself as such, protest the Judge’s statement, complaining that the prosecution had all the time it needed to make their case and that he was being unfairly limited by Metcalf’s statement.
Metcalf simply dismissed the complaint, stating that Resnick could be efficient and still get his case made in the half day scheduled for the hearing.
The court then heard Metcalf’s latest attempt to dismiss the case, this time filing an anti-SLAPP motion before the hearing. The prosecution offered no commentary on the motion other than stating that Metcalf had previously ruled on an anti-SLAPP motion a the beginning of the extended series of hearings and expected the same outcome.
Resnick’s argument essentially came down to the fact that his victim worked for the government and allegedly used her role to have probation, another government body, punish Myers for using his protected speech. The attorney asked for an immediate dismissal of the case with prejudice and attorney’s fees and court costs.
Judge Metcalf quickly resolved the issue, again denying the motion before moving on.
The victim’s husband was back on the stand, this time as a witness for Resnick. Resnick asked the man a series of questions about the YouTube broadcasts where Myers allegedly violated his probation conditions.
While the man could not answer most of the technical aspects of how a YouTube channel was run or how YouTube itself works, this was mainly due to the fact that the victim’s husband nor the victim herself run a YouTube channel.
Attorney Resnick was prevented by Judge Metcalf from playing entire videos during his presentation, with Metcalf noting that he would review the videos in question on his own before making his final ruling.
Resnick was seen by our own court reporter JudyYouGotThis as largely ineffective in proving that the victim’s husband was serving as Myers’ default probation officer as his assigned probation officer was overloaded with cases and unable to monitor Myers on a daily basis.
On redirect by prosecutor Rachel Stiles, the victim’s husband was able to establish that while he made lists of videos with timestamps that they sent to the prosecution, those lists were not used without confirmation and changes made by Stiles and her team.
The victim’s husband said that he investigated Myers activity on his own and refuted Myers’ claim that the victim would not have known about Myers’ new videos and potential probation violations if she had not been told that by JudyYouGotThis.
ReallyCoolNews was again featured in testimony. Resnick attempted to blame articles on ReallyCoolSite.org for Myers’ subsequent actions in his livestreams. He stated that when Myers went to Josh “This is a Public Service” Grey’s YouTube page and prominently displayed video thumbnails featuring the victim’s name and face, Myers was only doing so in response to an article that had infuriated him on ReallyCoolSite.org.
Later in the day, with Myers’ probation officer unavailable, Resnick decided to put the probation officer’s superior on the stand, Appearing via remote, the supervisor indicated that he was concerned with Myers’ actions as the supervisor had a background in domestic violence cases.
The supervisor was concerned by Myers’ increased frequency of livestreams, the intensity of livestreams and indications that Myers may go to the victim’s workplace before making the decision to take Myers into custody.
As the day was truncated, Myers himself apparently made the decision not to testify on his own behalf. Judge Metcalf confirmed that was Myers’ choice and that he knew he was giving up his opportunity to tell his side of the story by refusing to testify.
Myers presented no surprise witnesses and did not confront Metcalf directly over the “defamation’” issues as he had promised to do in his weekend interviews.
Judge Metcalf then ordered closing arguments to be set for Wednesday, September 16, 2026, with a written ruling to follow after he reviewed the videos in the case.
With over 10 hours of on-YouTube live coverage devoted to him on Monday, Myers experienced no new donations towards his legal defense GiveSendGo account. The sometime YouTuber had begging his fans for donations in order to support himself and his dog during these times in an interview on Saturday with Zachary “Liberty Troll” Kueker.
Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney won the crowd sourcing title for the day, with $18,624.00 in new donations.
He was followed by the campaign to help Louis “The Real Constitutional Upholders” Johnson, which brought in $282.00.
SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes placed third for the day, with $120.00 in new donations split between $100.00 towards his YouTube Demonetized Long Island Audit, Help Us Keep Fighting campaign and $20.00 towards his Help Me Fight These Unlawful Charges & Injustice fund.
Angel “Kansas City Accountability” Moses rounded out the day with $100.00 in new donations.
No other campaigns that we follow saw donations for the day.
