The return of Glenn Cerio continued as the former king of all first amendment auditors on YouTube over the past four days as he has continued to upload that is new to his viewers of questionable dates and as the YouTube transitions back to post office audits.
Cerio’s first audit consisted of what appears to be the last in a series of side-of-the-road traffic encounters in the Everett, Washington area as he walked near a truck that had been pulled over at a traffic stop.
The YouTuber asked the driver what he was pulled over for, the driver said expired tags, Cerio said that’s impossible because police can’t see an expired tab while driving, so it must have been something else.
A quick check of Google showed that tabs, called “tags” in other states, are color coded so a simple check of the color can be done by police officers while driving. Without that knowledge, Cerio persisted in his claim throughout the rest of the video.
Cerio stood around, breathing heavily while stationery, as the traffic stop progressed and the driver received a warning. The drive yelled at Cerio that police weren’t all that bad. Cerio yelled back that the driver owed him a “thank you” for saving him from a ticket.
The police officer pulled over to talk to Cerio while Cerio muttered that the driver was “out of control.” Cerio said that the police officer would have given the guy a ticket if Cerio wasn’t there with a camera, the officer denied it and the officer drove off.
Cerio’s second video was the most action packed of the four, with Cerio stationing himself by the doors of a busy Everett area post office. Cerio’s position meant that customers needed to use the far door of the double doors to get into the lobby area. He remained stationary for most of the 40+ minute video.
It’s unclear when the video was shot and Cerio brought near immediate attention to himself in the lobby as the lobby was filled with customers. He was accosted by several customers who received insults from the YouTuber after engaging with him. Two threatened to call the police, with an older gentleman calling the police on Cerio, describing him to police as “white, in his early 30’s, a great big guy.”
Cerio spent most of the video interacting with a well tressed black gentleman who was trying to put together a package to mail. The YouTuber joked that the man was a pimp based on his attire and the man responded negatively to Cerio’s statements.
A woman working the front desk asked Cerio not to film the front desk area and Cerio screamed at her to mind her own business. He said that if she could not cite the law that he was breaking, she needed to be quiet.
Police eventually arrived, with a sergeant interacting with Cerio while two officers engaged with employees in the back room. When Cerio asked about officer Jacobi, his nemesis from the Everett police force, he was told that Jacobi had retired.
When the sergeant asked why Cerio was filming, he told the sergeant that he was filming a documentary on post offices for a private company and that he couldn’t say anything more about it. Cerio used vague answers to respond to the rest of the questions posed by the officer, shutting down the bold personality he used when interacting with patrons earlier in the video.
The officers left without further interaction with Cerio.
Cerio’s second post office video came from a post office in Bothel, Washington, a larger post office that was not very busy on the day he was filming. He was largely ignored due to lack of customers and Cerio ended up filming an employee as he swept the floor for a good portion of the video.
The final video, released Tuesday, featured Cerio at Seattle’s Wedgwood post office. This stop featured a tiny lobby area and other than one woman briefly negatively interacting with him, it was unexciting. Cerio was largely ignored again and other than the increasingly strained sound of his breathing while stationary, his actions caused no alarms.
Cerio is expected to release a new video on Wednesday.
