There were several surprises on Wednesday when free range grandma Regan Benson appeared for a second time on San Joaquin Valley Transparency’s live stream Wednesday in which she gave her opinion on what happened to activist Luis “The Real Constitutional Upholders” Johnson when he was shot by police earlier in the month.
But first, Benson promoted the appearance on her own YouTube community page where she posted another racially tinged attack on Judge Isaam Shamsid-Deen in her promotion of her appearance.
Benson wrote:
Join SJV and I tomorrow 5/13 @ 10am MST 9 am Cali time to discuss the most current pressing issues and latest filing charges today around our friend Luis from the @T.R.C.U
He was shot 9 times by the Denver PD and survived it.
WHO GETS SHOT NINE TIMES BY THE COPS AND SURVIVES?
Well, this guy did that’s pictured with me. I’m still in shock but very relieved to have seen him today with my own eyes.
This young man is a true upholder of our rights and just took nine bullets to the body BY THE COPS for his stance in one’s right to self defense. This has been the longest two weeks in my entire life of time given in activism.
I’m very proud of and protective in support of this young man, he’s younger than my youngest son!
That’s a big damn deal to me.
Also, I’ll fill ya in on Judge ShimSham-Job having an emotional break down and throwing me in jail this past Friday.
Turns out it didn’t end there. More games are being played. This whack a doo judge has now joined forces with the Denver cops in being above the law in an attempt to end my life.
We have us some serious problems here in Denver and through out the metro area in wildly out of control cops and the county court judges are just getting worse in their obvious and bias collaboration with the police and DA’s.
Be sure to join us over on SJV channel for that LIVE discussion.

Benson was briefly joined by Luis Johnson himself on the broadcast as he appeared on the livestream from his home, where he is recovering from having nine bullets penetrate his body.
Contrary to reporting from Benson earlier in the month, Johnson was not wearing his bullet proof gear when he was shot by police. Benson played up his survival after receiving multiple gunshot wounds as a testament to his toughness, while San Joaquin Valley Transparency asserted that Denver police were attempting to murder Johnson.
Once Johnson left, Benson also excused herself while San Joaquin played the bodycam video from the shooting.
The video showed police arriving on the scene, someone pointing out Johnson as a suspect. Police then screaming for Johnson to stop as he ran inside his apartment building.
Police entered the building to find Johnson with his back turned to the police and holding his weapon. Officers screamed for Johnson to drop his weapon and within seconds, opened fire, hitting him nine times in the back and buttocks.
There was a lot of confusion post-shooting, as the officers were not equipped to render assistance to Johnson. Johnson can be heard saying, “It was in self-defense” as he was lying on the ground.
Upon further review, most viewers point out that the gun either fell from Johnson’s hand slightly before the shooting or as he was shot. It was on the ground as the last few shots were fired.
Benson returned and claimed that her investigation of what happened was that a person was out of the night and returning home from his outing. He was then “jumped” by six men who were larger than him and shot someone when de-escalation did not work.
As the shooting de-escalated the situation, “the man” did not render assistance to the person he shot nor did he call police. Instead, he returned to his home where he was confronted by police.
Benson also clarified the charges that Johnson is facing. While police and newspaper accounts said that Johnson was charged with attempted murder, no such charges were ever brought against him. He was detained at the hospital on a hold for first degree assault with a deadly weapon.
Johnson posted $50,000.00 bail, then he was released from holding, only to be later charged with misdemeanor carry a concealed weapon, misdemeanor possession of a gun while under the influence, and misdemeanor carrying of a prohibited large capacity magazine.
Benson boasted that she believed that knew that they had made a mistake by engaging with Johnson and were covering up their wrongdoing. She also said that Johnson, as a second amendment advocate, would cherish in the opportunity to fight the “unconstitutional” charges he was facing.
Johnson is due in court on May 18, 2026.
