Free range grandmother, anarchist and all-around swell gal Regan Benson insulted a small child on Friday, marking the twenty-fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks against America with a mock gagging reflex and a round of laughter after a little girl presented a banner honoring first responders at Denver’s District 3 police station.
Benson was at the location to continue her “Get Your Help from a Crackhead” campaign, which, in typical fashion, has turned into a campaign about her rights. Stating that her crude drawings and anti-police messaging on public property is “documented protected speech” and has been threatening lawsuits against both the city of Denver and the city of Englewood, Colorado, for cleaning up her work.
The sometime advocate for the homeless, has rejected her own messaging of help for the homeless in recent days to carry on what appears to many to be a campaign to provoke an arrest and a quick payout from either city in “go away” money.
Benson has previously earned such payments from the city of Denver in the amount of $100,000.00 and $30,000.00 respectfully. She has an outstanding lawsuit against the city of Englewood for an incident where a negative incident with an Allied Security guard at the Englewood public library resulted in her temporary ban from the building.
Friday’s incident followed a strange 36-hour period for Benson. On Thursday, she chalked in front of the Englewood police department in a bizarre 2-hour livestream that focused Benson used to focus on her tennis outfit and inadvertently mooning the camera with her underwear than it did on any actual messaging.
She returned to the police station hours later, in the cover of darkness, humble bragging that it took three loads of water from a fire truck to clean up her previous chalking session. Benson promptly chalked again in the darkness with similar messaging, threatening a lawsuit as it was her “protected speech” and that cleaning the mess that she caused, twice, would be in violation of the statewide water restrictions.
During her Thursday night escapades, she encountered a man who she said stood respectfully away from her while she chalked. The man talked a bit and then said goodbye, walking off into the darkness without incident.
By Friday afternoon, the man was reclassified as a pervert and an enemy sent by rival homeless group Shadows of Babylon Investigations, as a picture of her rear end, which she proudly displayed on Thursday and early Friday’s sessions, showed up on Facebook.
Benson’s messaging also gleefully reflected that her chalking of both the Englewood police and fire departments weren’t cleaned up until around 6 AM and that she had documented her work for apparent legal purposes.
Which led her to Denver’s District 3.
As she approached the building, she claimed that District 3 had ruined her life. That her enemies were and where Commander Joel Bell, who has a protective order against her worked.
As she came close to the building, she was briefly stopped by a homeowner who complained about the utility company marking sidewalks with spray paint. She muttered that the spray paint was not immediately cleaned up by the fire department like her chalking had been and went into the police station to apparently protest the unfair treatment.
Entering the building, she commented that the area of the lobby that used to house a display where patrons could leave messages for police on blue ribbons looked terrible. Benson’s work, of course, as her complaints about the unfairness of removing her anti-police messaging from the wall saw the display’s removal.
She approached the front desk and asked about the markings. The officer behind the glass partition said that there was some work going on at their front gates but was unaware of the purpose of other markings.
As Benson lounged in the lobby, a young girl came in with her mother holding a large sign that honored first responders and thanked them on the anniversary of 9/11, one of the greatest tragedies in American history.
While Benson interacted kindly with the child and watched as the female officer came around from the desk to accept the sign. Things got dark quickly after Benson paused the livestream, used the bathroom and went outside the station.
She made a retching sound and laughed, mocking the girl and stating that the little girl is in for a hard realization that police were worthless. Benson continued on an anti-police rant, indicating that her real feelings about the need for police were too controversial to say on YouTube.
The long-time anarchist, who enjoys the first amendment protections enough to sue over it, mocked a small child and failed to read the room on the commemoration of one of the darkest days in American history.
Par for course for Benson.
