Dave “Dr. Dave” Coulter got a major win in his defense against a protection order brought against him by the YouTuber known as Audit Them in Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday as a judge agreed to a continuance in the case while Coulter seeks legal representation.
According to Coulter on his Tuesday afternoon live stream, the hearing largely went in his favor as the judge granted him a continuance then largely shut down Audit Them’s demand that the Judge hear his complaints of daily “death threats.”
Audit Them is currently seeking a permanent protective order against Coulter in a domestic violence court and already has a court order which has blocked Coulter’s two main YouTube channels in the United States.
Again, according to Coulter’s account, the Judge asked the YouTuber if he had contacted the State’s Attorney General’s office about the death threats. When Audit Them indicated that he had not, he was told that she could not help him until he had contacted that office and filed the appropriate paperwork.
The next hearing for this strange case has been scheduled for either June 4 or June 5, according to Coulter.
Coulter will be seeking the removal of the block of his YouTube channels and a dismissal of the protective order at that hearing.
Coulter continued to comment on the on-going events between the two men during his Tuesday stream, with news that he had hit Audit Them with two copyright strikes due to Audit Them airing portions of a recent Coulter livestream twice on his channel without significant commentary or changes.
As Audit Them reportedly filed DMCA counter notices, Coulter announced that he had 10 days to decide whether or not he would be suing Audit Them over the copyright violations. Coulter indicated that filing the lawsuit would only cost $405.00 and mockingly pondered if he would seek the services of Randall S. “The Unhinged Attorney” Newman, Esq. to take the case on his behalf.
Coulter had mentioned suing Audit Them in the past, though not on copyright grounds. Some viewers found irony in Coulter threatening to sue over the copyright issue as an associate of Coulter was sued last year by Zachary “Liberty Troll” Kueker over copyright issues.
That associate, Gail Buma, temporarily had control of Coulter’s YouTube channel and took responsibility for the content on said channels when it was struck by Kueker as she filled out the DMCA counter notices on his behalf.
The lawsuit was dropped in September after Attorney Newman was informed of the then recent passing of Buma’s husband. Buma nor Coulter had not been targeted with follow-up lawsuits by Kueker since the dismissal.
If Coulter goes through with the copyright related lawsuit, it would be the first new suit since last fall in a time where most of last year’s lawsuits have either settled or are in the process of settling.
Coulter’s Help David Fight False Claims and Harassment GoFundMe campaign made $337.00 to take Tuesday’s crowdsourcing title. Jonathan “Frauditor Troll” Hudon-Huneault’s Help us Fight this anti-free speech retaliation lawsuit placed second as it lost $8.00 in value due to exchange rate changes between CAD and USD.
On Wednesday, Coulter’s campaign was silent as our own ReallyCoolNews On-Going Expenses campaign won the day with a $100.00 donation. Hudon-Huneault’s campaign placed second with $15.00 in new value due to exchange rate changes.
We will continue to monitor Coulter and Audit Them’s channels for updates to the on-going legal activity.
Correction: A previous version of this article stated that the next court hearing was scheduled for May 15, 2026. Coulter said in a recent livestream that the next court date is actually June 4 or 5. We’ve made the change, we apologize for the confusion.
