A five-hour campaign organized by Harvey Freebird, Tucson Pigs Suck, Pigs Under Pressure and Jose “Chille” DeCastro raised a little over $10,000.00 after five hours of live streams fundraising on behalf of jailed former YouTuber James “James Freeman” Springer.
Springer is currently being held on $40,000.00 bond for a multitude of charges based on allegations last week that he attacked his own teenage daughter and threatening to do self-harm and harm to his family before leading police on a low-speed police chase that resulted in the deployment of a “grappler” device to disable his vehicle.
According to Pigs Under Pressure, who has been in constant communication with Springer, Springer had initially opposed any sort of fundraiser, believing that no one would donate based on the charges he faced.
Pigs Under Pressure also reported the Freeman is in general population, but part of general population where he is receiving mental health treatment. According to his reporting, Springer said he had a “crazy” roommate who is barely able to communicate in English.
DeCastro’s involvement was credited for bringing in the vast majority of donations for the night. Despite having serious problems with Springer in the past, DeCastro said that he and Springer had resolved those differences in 2024. He also added that he has been working “for days” to find legal representation for Springer.
Pigs Under Pressure added that Springer has a court date on Thursday that will more than likely be postponed for unspecified reasons. At that hearing, Springer reportedly will find out his official charges.
Springer is being housed at the Pima County Adult Detention Center, the same facility where Lane Myers was housed last year after facing charges of his own.
The group indicated that they would continue to hold fundraising events on a daily basis until they collected the $40,000.00 that Springer needed to make Bond; with DeCastro indicating that if they found a bail bondsman to take part of the money, the rest would go to Springer’s legal defense.
Freebird chimed in that there would be “trolls” who reported the GoFundMe for violating GoFundMe’s rules. While he indicated that they set up the fundraiser properly and within GoFundMe’s guidelines, he instructed Pigs Under Pressure to withdraw any funds as soon as possible in order to prevent GoFundMe from confiscating the money.
Pigs Under Pressure complained that the Pima County Adult Correction Facility is now charging a $6.00 visitation fee and that visits must be arranged the day before a visit. He also notified the panel that he had arranged to get Springer’s vehicle out of the import yard on Tuesday.
DeCastro could not do a livestream without plugging his products. He announced that his Constitutional HQ board game would be available for sale on his website later today. He will be selling them in packs of PDF cards and will also be making the long-awaited Constitutional HQ videos live at the same time.

The DeCastro led Support James Freeman’s Pretrial Release Fund dominated Tuesday’s take with $6,761.00 in donations before the midnight Pacific Time cutoff. John’s campaign placed second with $100.00 in new donations.
Our own On-Going Expenses fund place third for the day with $70.00 in new donations, while Hudon-Huneault’s campaign saw its first new donation in weeks, however, it lost $3.00 in value due to exchange rate changes between CAD and USD.
No other campaigns that we follow saw new donations for either day.
DeCastro indicated that he will have his own fundraiser for Springer early in the day on Tuesday, while the group will again livestream Tuesday night.
