Love was in the air on Sunday when Christopher “Direct D” Ruff married girlfriend Amanda at his home in Apache County, Arizona following a week where Amanda, then based out of Hawaii, spearheaded a successful effort to release Ruff from jail.
Ruff was being held on a single misdemeanor charge and a felony charge based on statements made by Ruff’s ex-girlfriend, Heather Russell. Originally, Ruff had been held on multiple charges, and his bond was set at $100,000.00 with another $8,500.00 in cash bonds added as Ruff had outstanding warrants from Maricopa County for missing court dates.
After 20 days of frustration, authorities dismissed the charges without Ruff without prejudice. Further investigation may be carried out in the case, though it seems unlikely after Ruff was arrested before their investigation was completed and a grand jury could not find evidence to justify holding him on Ruff’s original charges.
During Ruff’s time in jail, Amanda introduced herself as “the one that got away” and said that she had a long history with Ruff. The pair had been involved in their teens and went to jail together after charges that they both served years in jail for.
The pair apparently only broke up after Amanda was released early and her father convinced her to move to Hawaii to start her life over. While she had a successful life in Hawaii, with a young son at her side, she never got over Ruff and the couple came back together after he had broken up with Russell earlier this year.
Amanda then announced that she and Ruff had planned to get married the week of his arrest. According to Amanda, Ruff had gone to the Apache County to both get material related to their marriage licenses and to file for a hearing to dispute Russell’s order of protection against Ruff when he was apprehended.
Ruff would later confirm Amanda’s claims after he was released, telling the world that the pair would be married on a livestream over the weekend.
The pair kept that promise, having a ceremony from inside Ruff’s house on Sunday as the weather did not cooperate with the gathering. Ruff’s friend and tenant on his property, the Desert Gnome served as witness while an unnamed woman performed the ceremony.
Gifts from friends and family did not come to Ruff’s GiveSendGo account, which was silent for the day. Instead, Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney’s GiveSendGo account took the crowd sourcing win for Monday, bringing in $568.00 in donations to the controversial YouTuber.
Jailed bicyclist Lane Myers followed with a single $50.00 donation from Zachary “Liberty Troll” Kueker for the day. That donation brought accusations that Kueker was paying Myers for his recent interviews from jail with Kueker, who has greatly benefitted from the exposure by featuring Myers.
The fund for Luis “The Real Constitutional Upholders” Johnson received a $25.00 donation to take third place for the day, followed by a tie with $10.00 in donations to SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes’ Support The Fight Against Tyranny & Corruption campaign and John “First Amendment Protection Agency” Medaglia’s ILLEGAL ARREST DEFENSE FUND!!! Campaign.
No other campaigns that we follow saw donations for the day.
The happy couple returned to the Apache County courthouse on Monday where they had to leave unrelated court proceedings when court officials thought that Ruff was streaming.
Ruff, instead, took viewers on a tour of the outside of the building, which houses not only the court but also the Apache County jail. The YouTuber joking about how big the building was as he showed the path he was taken when he was arrested last month.
Highlighting the reality of how small Apache County’s facilities are, that path consisted of maybe 300 yards from the front of the building around back to the receiving area of the jail. The pair ended the livestream soon after that, with Ruff pledging that he will audio stream future hearings in his on-going civil cases in the future.
Ruff is expected to livestream again later on Monday.
