Failed Power Ranger and inventor of the Jock Sock Jose “Chille” DeCastro did not attend his own arraignment in Las Vegas on Tuesday as he was represented by attorney Michael Mee at the hearing and not high-powered attorney Josh Tomsheck of the firm Holland & Tomsheck, who DeCastro had unsuccessfully been crowd sourcing to hire.
Mee handled the hearing professionally, despite DeCastro’s previous description of the attorney as “mid-level” and as someone who could not hold a candle to the more expensive Tomsheck.
The hearing itself, an initial appearance for DeCastro’s single remaining charge of walking in the street when a sidewalk was available from a July 3, 2026, incident near the Strip in Las Vegas, went about three minutes and was highlighted by the Judge recusing himself from the case.
Municipal County Judge Mathew Walker informed the prosecution and Mee that he had recently become a Judge and had previously worked on the prosecution of DeCastro for his 2023 prosecution for obstructing a police officer and interfering in a crime scene.
Judge Walker said that he would save Attorney Mee the step of asking for his recusal and went ahead and reassigned the case to another judge to handle DeCastro’s next court appearance on September 1, 2026.
Mee’s appearance itself means that DeCastro has had a significant setback in his abilities to raise large amounts of money towards his various crowd sourcing campaigns. While DeCastro had been so confident in his abilities that he had declared that he had never failed at a crowd sourcing campaign, this would be the second crowd sourcing campaign in a row that failed to meet his goals.
With only $9,005.00 raised out of his goal of $15,000.00, DeCastro is far below expectations. While it doesn’t rule out hiring Tomsheck for the September court date, it may prove unlikely as attorney Mee is already handling the appeal of his loss to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department earlier this year, he has also made an appearance in DeCastro’s lawsuit against the same organization for a 2024 Valentine’s Day arrest.
Ironically, DeCastro credits Tomsheck for convincing the prosecution to drop the charges against him in that case before it went to trial. Mee, the “mid” level attorney was unable to get DeCastro’s current charge dropped and it appears to be moving to trial.
As previously stated, the apparent failure of DeCastro’s current GoFundMe campaign is his second crowd sourcing failure in a row. His Help Me Finish YouveGotBail and Protect the Technology campaign failed earlier this summer, only raising $5,477.00 out of a $25,000.00 goal.
Again, irony comes in the fact that YouVeGotBail.AI, the product that DeCastro was raising funds for, has been described as a website to replace GoFundMe or GiveSendGo and hold personalized crowdfunding campaigns for those who need bail money to get out of jail.
The failure left many to wonder how successful DeCastro would be running a company devoted to crowdfunding when the crowdfunding campaign to secure the rights to its technology failed spectacularly.
DeCastro would eventually take a personal loan from a family member to secure the patent attorney he said he needed to “secure the technology.”
On more recent livestreams, DeCastro has said that he was tired of “begging for money” and preferred that his fans buy his first and fifth amendment related products.
For the past week and a half, DeCastro has held nightly late-night streams focused on anti-police videos and sales of his product. Those streams are setting records ad DeCastro has broadcast for up to nine hours at a time to concurrent viewership of over 3,000 people on his most recent streams.
While recent streams themselves have seen over one million views, it is noted that DeCastro is broadcasting in vertical format which is part of the shorts stream on YouTube and only brings in a tenth of the revenue of a horizontally formatted video.
DeCastro, however, has been profiting from the extended livestreams from sales of his products and his nine-hour Tuesday livestream saw $756.00 in super chats and gifted memberships.
This is a continuing pattern for DeCastro as his Monday livestream saw $447.00 in super chats and memberships, his Sunday stream brought in $686.00, his Saturday stream brought in $503.00 and his Friday stream brought in $404.00.
While YouTube takes roughly 45% of that revenue and he will not see most of that revenue until his September payout from YouTube, his extended livestreams have made up for the lack of donations towards his crowdfunding campaigns.
DeCastro’s GoFundMe failed to take in new donations for Wednesday as rival SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes brought in $235.00 in new donations to his We the People vs. Police Union Power campaign.
Christopher “Direct D” Ruff took second place with $221.00 in new donations towards his Help Chris “Direct D” Ruff Get Home campaign. Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney placed third with $70.00 in new donations towards hi Help Turtleboy defend Free Speech campaign.
No other campaigns that we follow saw donations for the day.
