Jose “Chille” DeCastro went live twice on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in live streams that would showcase the best and worst points of his personality.

The best came in his first live stream of the day, raising funds for his friend News Now Ninja. Ninja was seeking $500 out of the $1500 he claimed he needed to go towards retaining a lawyer for his court appearance on Monday, January 23, 2023. He has been charged with interference with public duties, a misdemeanor, for allegedly interfering in an investigation of a traffic accident in Harris County, Texas back in December.

In the now famous footage of his audit, which has been covered by many an auditor reaction channel, News Now Ninja famously badgered a police officer that he had a previous issue with to the point where he was arrested for interference in the police investigation. Ninja claimed that he found a lawyer who was a fan of first amendment auditors and needed the final $500 to put towards the retainer.

DeCastro sprang into action, which was initially marred by internet freeze ups, and the pair managed to cobble together more than $600 towards their cause in the 45-minute stream. It was a victory for DeCastro and showed off his strengths: putting together low-denomination fund raisers and managing to get that money from his remaining active subscribers.

Riding that high, at the end of the live stream, DeCastro announced that he’d return in an hour for an update in the case of Jacqueline “Laney” Hudson, promising shocking new footage related to the case.

When he returned, a clearly agitated DeCastro spun an nearly incomprehensible tale of “the Fraternal Order of Cover Up,” a direct dig at the Fraternal Order of Police. DeCastro began to spin a tale of how the police in states from California to Ohio to Kentucky to New York were all involved in covering up for each other. That somehow the actions by investigators in the James Sheets case in Ohio, a case that DeCastro has been obsessing over, directly influenced Hudson’s case even though the incidents happened months apart in different states and had no direct connection to each other.

DeCastro played a video given to him by Jessica Slone, Hudson’s aunt, that showed the family confronting Cabell County Sheriff Chuck Zerkle. The footage was taken a few days after the accident that took Hudson’s life and features the sheriff directing the family to the state patrol, who had taken over the investigation. The family members were confrontational in their grief and refused to accept the sheriff’s statements that he couldn’t help them as he must remain impartial until the investigation into the incident was finished.

When the family questioned why the police officer, Jeffery Racer, was not in jail for the alleged crime, Zerkle explained that they did not have grounds to arrest him as his breathalyzer tests came back without indicating the presence of alcohol and he passed field sobriety testing. The family members disputed that and stated that they felt the officer was given special treatment. Zerkle assured the family that if the investigation proved wrongdoing of any sorts on the part of Racer in his capacity as an officer, Zerkle would be the one to discipline Racer.

DeCastro was later joined by Jessica Slone, who appeared via cell phone call. She criticized the fact that officer Racer has not made any comments about the accident, nor has he reached out to apologize to the family. She said she knew that Racer did not purposely kill her niece, and it did not matter if her niece was intoxicated at the time of her death, what mattered was that she was killed.

Slone said that the family felt alone and that no one had stood up for them except DeCastro. She brought up the family’s appearance on Welsh News Network’s broadcast and said that they were not given a chance to tell their story. The mention of Welsh News Network enraged DeCastro, who told Slone that the Welsh News Network was a troll channel that was actively attacking the family and the people behind the channel were projecting the hate they felt for DeCastro onto the family.

After dismissing Slone, DeCastro directed his followers to mass report Welsh News Network’s channel, simultaneously claiming to “never visiting the channel before” while having to unblock the channel to report it. He attacked the hosts involved in the broadcasts, disparaging their personal appearances, then took his viewers through a step by step guide on how to “attack” the channel with the mass reports.

When informed that Welsh News Network was having a live stream later that night, DeCastro stated that he was concerned that the presence of his subscribers would give the channel undeserved views. He then repeated his false claim that because of his lawsuit against YouTube, no one was allowed to use even a single frame of his footage, and directed his partner, DeleteLawzClips, to go through every video on Welsh’s channel and issue copyright strikes.

DeCastro ended the broadcast with a repeat of his attacks on officer Jeffery Racer, stating that if Racer returned to policing, DeCastro would go to the junior high and high schools and get the children to rise up against him.
