Jose “Chille” DeCastro promised more lawsuits and a return to Las Vegas’s First Friday event last week when he appeared for an interview with an unidentified female reporter for the Our Nevada Judges YouTube channel who towered over him during a Tuesday interview.
The contrast between the reporter and DeCastro was striking as even with his hair gelled to give him the appearance of being taller, the inventor of the Jock Sock was unable to convince onlookers that he was close to his claimed height of 5’8”.
Police have done Las Vegas Metro Police Department in all of their wisdom is they’ve decided that the street being closed is their own personal little Soyer. Like they already have a place under the bridge where they belong. But what they’re doing is they’re blocking off both sides of the road and then telling pedestrians they can’t walk in the roadway.
Hey, Las Vegas Metro Police, I’ll be down there on Friday. I will walk in the street Because the cop that arrested me, you’re getting sued. And your supervisor, you’re getting sued.
I’m suing both of you. And I’m suing Las Vegas Metro and I’m suing Clark County. And if I have to sue the First Friday Foundation, I’ll sue them as well You don’t have a right to arrest me.
While DeCastro is already suing Clark County, Nevada, and the Las Vegas Metro Police force in multiple other lawsuits, he has yet to file suit for the July 3, 2026 incident.
The diminutive would go on to address why he was arrested and his chances in court:
The roads are closed so that I can walk in the roadway. And what happened on First Friday two months ago is I was walking in the road recording the cop putting someone in torture cuffs. At that moment, a cop, I believe, recognized me, pulled behind me, and arrested me.
So that’s the reason why we’re in court today for that specific reason because I was arrested for stepping in a closed road. And if you look up what I’m telling you you’ll find out that what I’m saying is true. And even if you’re someone who’s not a fan of First Amendment auditors or a personal fan of mine, that doesn’t matter.
What matters is the law. If you’re gonna be a country based on law and order then the rule of law must be upheld. And the police don’t get to decide, but the rule of law is whatever they say it is.
And that’s exactly what those cops did. And you guys are all getting sued, every last one of you. And thank God, I’m gonna lose most of my cases and I know that.
DeCastro indeed lost the one case that went to trial this year, again, against the LVMPD, which he is currently appealing. That case involved a 2023 arrest that saw the failed Power Ranger incarcerated for a short period of time in the Cook County Adult Detention Center before having his conviction overturned on appeal.
He would also file suit against the judges involved in both his conviction and his appeal, a lawsuit that is in limbo as DeCastro never bothered to serve the judges, has never served LVMPD officer Brandan Borque, and is facing a motion to dismiss the case from defendants Agnes Botelho and Clark County.
A second case, concerning a traffic stop where DeCastro was briefly detained in November of 2023 was dismissed in August. United States District Court Judge Cristina D. Silva ordered the dismissal on the grounds that despite multiple extensions and the granting of early discovery, DeCastro could not be bothered to serve the defendants in the case.
While that case was dismissed without prejudice, the statute of limitations has passed and DeCastro no longer has the ability to sue over his claims.
As for a return to the scene of the crime, despite his bold words, the YouTuber did not livestream from Las Vegas Friday night. Nor has he filed suit against anyone new since his threats on Tuesday.
