[Full disclosure: Mr. Myers has recently contacted ReallyCoolNews multiple times with concerns about our coverage of his on-going legal issues. Mr. Myers has also threatened to sue ReallyCoolNews for the same coverage. No lawsuits have been filed as of press time.]
Convicted felon Lane Myers received a response on Thursday to his recent motion to modify conditions of his probation by the Pima County Attorney’s office, which, unsurprisingly, opposed his request and questioned his continued candidacy for probation based on his 2025 felony conviction.
The document comes after an interesting week for Myers. On Monday, YouTuber Merb34st released a video on Myers that was highly critical of his recent motion to modify his probation conditions.
Myers responded negatively to the video, posting on his YouTube community page on Tuesday: “I have a reward for this persons legal name and home address. This is what you call a fraud of all frauds. No “lawyer” would ever call someone dumb in a public video. Or talk about a case they have not done any research. This is 100pct made up as he goes, false statements. There not even good ones either.”
The post was soon followed up by an extended live stream on his channel, featuring his thoughts on ReallyCoolNews’ recent coverage of his motion and an attack on Merb34st’s video.
Before the event, the pair had an exchange in the comments field of Merb34st’s video.
Myers, responding to a post questioning his probation officer’s knowledge of his recent activities: “Make sure you send it to my probation officer. I spoke to them yesterday and they only take complaints from people that leave their name and contact information. They cannot act on anonymous tips. So make sure you send the comments to them, and leave your contact information when doing it. Thank you”
When questioned why he was highlighting the contact information, Myers replied, “Thats so they can be subpoaned to court and testify to their allegations under oath. Because making a false report in Arizona is a Class 4 Felony.”
Merb34st quickly stepped in with, “It’s a class 1 misdemeanor, and they have to “*knowingly* make to a law enforcement agency of either this state or a political subdivision of this state a false, fraudulent or unfounded report or statement or to *knowingly* misrepresent a fact *for the purpose of interfering* with the orderly operation of a law enforcement agency or misleading a peace officer.”
Myers replied with, “Its Perjury, class 4 felony. Your video starts in about 10 minutes. So get your popcorn ready Jon.”
Myers then prominently displayed Merb34st’s name, his work e-mail and the telephone number to his work address during his livestream. He then called Merb34st, insisting he was Lane Myers reporter, representing Lane Myers the individual, and at times Lane Myers the attorney, again representing his “client” Lane Myers.
Lane Myers is not licensed to practice law in any state but has served as a pro se litigant in many previous court cases, including in his own defense in his criminal trial last year.
Myers ended the video by again displaying Merb34st’s contact information on screen for an extended period as music played in the background.
If the actions by Myers seemed familiar, it was due to the observation by many that Myers used a similar tactic to expose the contact information of his victim of his criminal actions that led to felony stalking charges against him in 2024.
Merb34st has declined to take legal action against Myers, instead engaging with Myers in and adversarial capacity in various comments fields of Myers-related YouTube videos.
Myers himself has directed fans to donate to his recently created GiveSendGo campaign, which states a goal of $20,000.00 for Myers to sue various organizations and individuals these include:
New Mexico “Campground arrest” Lawsuit
City of Tucson “Booing Arrest” Lawsuit
U of A “U Turn arrest” Lawsuit
Judge Ball “kidnapping” Lawsuit
Pima County Detectives “sidewalk arrest” Lawsuit
U of A “harassment arrest” Lawsuit
Records request costs
Transcription production costs
Post Conviction relief costs
General costs
Traveling to meetings costs
Traveling to court costs
Emergency costs related to being taken into custody as retaliation
The fund has made $205.00 in donations towards his $20,000.00 goal as of press time; this includes a $10.00 donation from Merb34st.
It is also noted that YouTube channels Illuminate The Dark and ThisisaPublicService have recently began to repost old videos that Myers had previously removed from his YouTube channel after his conviction.
The ThisisaPublicService channel is run by Josh Gray, who Myers was ordered not to have any contact with as part of his sentencing conditions.
Myers recently filed his motion to modify his conditions of probation, arguing that many of the conditions were legally unlawful and unenforceable.
Those conditions include the ban on contact with Gray and Mark “Reluctant Prophet” Kelly, the ban on posting information about his victim or her family on YouTube or social media, the forced removal of videos about the victim and her family from his YouTube channel and his ban on engaging in activities that would reasonably be expected to cause others to harass or contact his victim or her family.
The filing by the Pim County Attorney’s office opposed the arguments by Myers, indicating that Myers recently began to violate the terms and conditions of his probation by posting about the case and causing e-mailed harassment of his victim.
Copies of the e-mails allegedly sent to the victim were included as exhibits in the filing.
More shockingly, the response alleges that Myers has been in contact with Gray as Myers recently requested a copy of the Rule 15 interviews in the case. According to the response, Gray published the interview with the victim’s husband, while a second channel published an interview with a detective in the case.
The filing concluded:
The Defendant’s request to modify the terms of his probation in this case as he requested should be denied. The conditions of his probation are designed to rehabilitate him and protect the victim. The Defendant initially was complying with the terms, and the victim was not subject to ongoing harassment. Now that the Defendant is not following the conditions of his probation and is back to posting on YouTube and providing content regarding the case to other YouTubers, the victim is again being subjected to communications from the public of a negative nature. See State’s Attachment D. This demonstrates how the conditions of probation were necessary and achieved some of the goals of probation. The Defendant’s disregard of his probation terms is now subjecting the victim to harm and serving to cause the Defendant to go further down a path that will be harmful to himself and to the community. For these reasons, the State is also seeking to modify the Defendant’s conditions of probation as he is currently violating the conditions, and it is questionable whether the Defendant remains a good candidate for probation.
Myers has yet to post publicly about the response.
This is a breaking news story.
