According to published reports, former Connecticut State Trooper Bryan Fahey was arrested in Groton, Connecticut, on Friday for a single charge of disorderly conduct stemming from an incident with SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes, who had entered his private property to confront the officer.
The Groton Police Department’s Facebook page announced the arrest:
Town of Groton Police Department Charges Resident in Connection with July Disturbance:
The Town of Groton Police Department reports that, following a comprehensive investigation by state and municipal officials, a resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a July disturbance at his home.
BRYAN FAHEY, AGE 53, of GROTON, was arrested Friday and charged with Disorderly Conduct.
Following a July 11 incident at FAHEY’S home, the Town of Groton Police Department worked in collaboration with the Office of the State’s Attorney New London Judicial District to review the matter and provide all records and materials related to the incident.
The matter has since been transferred to the Office of the State’s Attorney Judicial District of Windham, and as a result of the investigation, FAHEY was arrested on the strength of a warrant on Friday, Aug. 29.
On Friday, July 11, at about 4:52 p.m., the Town of Groton Police Department responded to a disturbance at FAHEY’s residence.
The investigation revealed that during the confrontation between FAHEY and two men who were filming on his property, FAHEY allegedly spat in the face of one of the men.
FAHEY, who at the time was an off-duty, active law enforcement officer from another jurisdiction, has since retired from that agency.
FAHEY turned himself in on Friday, Aug. 29.
He was processed at the Town of Groton Police Department and released on a court-set promise to appear for arraignment at Danielson Superior Court on Sept. 3.
Further inquiries should be directed to Superior Court GA #11 in Danielson.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Reyes, who was already suing Fahey for another matter, said he was working in his role as “news reporter” when he brought his $150,000.00 billboard truck and a paid cameraman to Fahey’s neighborhood in July.
While the billboard truck displayed disparaging messages about Fahey, Reyes and his cameraman ignored signs indicating that they were on a private road to go to Fahey’s front door to confront the then state trooper.
When Reyes verbally assaulted the state trooper, Fahey went inside his house, returning with a firearm and his cell phone. At one point Fahey apparently can be seen spitting in Reyes’ face as Reyes was slow to move off of the private property.
Police were summoned and Reyes demanded that someone be arrested in the incident. He and his cameraman were then arrested, with Fahey avoiding charges as he was a current Connecticut State Trooper and it was determined that he could not be charged with spitting at Reyes.
Since the incident, Reyes has gone on a fundraising campaign, pulling in nearly $55,000.00 in donations to his various GoFundMe campaigns based on his arrest. Friday into Saturday alone, he brought in another $1,181.00 in donations after going live with a celebratory livestream.
No other campaigns that we follow received donations during the same period.
Reyes has used this and other incidents to enhance his lucrative YouTube fame. He has appeared on multiple YouTube channels, runs multiple channels of his own, has enormous merchandise sales, paid product endorsements and an ever popular Cameo account.
In Friday’s stream, Reyes indicated that he would be approaching prosecutors to demand that Fahey’s charges be expanded and that the former State Trooper face significant jail time. He also pushed for a dismissal of the charges that he and his cameraman hare facing.
This is a breaking news story.
