Kevin “The Angry Vet” Soper’s yearly donation drive for his Boost SCARS’ Mission for Veterans & Citizens took second place for Sunday as our own On-Going Expenses campaign edged it out for the victory, pulling in $70.00 in donations to the Angry Vet’s $60.00.
Our win was essentially driven by a group of our fans being reminded that if the market puts up goose eggs for an entire week, we’d be free of writing this column forever. Out of their deep love for torturing the person who writes these columns (we haven’t gone AI just yet), a group of viewers to the premiere of our last newscast banded together and assured us of torture for at least another week.
Sometimes this column just writes itself.
Soper’s campaign being a bit more important than ours, as he says he’s raising money for veterans and veterans’ issues that will be distributed through his The Servicemen and Citizens for American Rights Society (SCARS) organization.
While he claims that it is an official non-profit organization that is registered with the government, recent exposés by luminaries such as Dummy Krueger and our own digging have shown that it is not listed by the Internal Revenue Service as an official 501(c)(3) organization and does not currently have tax exempt status.
Soper’s organization provides free legal services on top of everything else and has taken criticism as there are those who believe that Carolyn “Carolina in Ft. Worth” Rodriguez used its resources for her disastrous legal defense before her recent conviction of interference in Fort Worth, Texas.
Whatever the case is, the organization’s $60.00 in donations came in second to our own fundraising efforts for the day. No other campaigns recorded donations for Sunday.
If you’d like to continue to our torturous time each morning writing this column as the very first thing we do, please pay attention for the next 30 seconds as we tell you how to join in on the fun.
