YouTuber and Navy and Coast Guard veteran Kevin “The Angry Vet” Soper went live from a Fuji Sushi where he ate lunch on camera while providing no updates at all to his previously on-going hair cutting campaign.
When we last saw Soper, he had announced a new version of his previously attempted haircutting fundraising campaign on behalf of the Servicemen and Citizens for American Rights Society (SCARS).
He announced that he had a May 9, 2025, deadline to fundraise $1,000.00 in order to cut off two inches of his hair and prepare his remaining hair for a donation to the Locks of Love charity, which makes wigs for children in need.
Ultimately, the May haircutting was seen as a precursor to the bigger cut, as it would get rid of split ends and damaged hair. He would then need to raise $10,000.00 by August 15, 2025, to reach the minimum donation for the 10 inches of hair needed to go to the charity.
Donations were set to be made to the SCARS GoFundMe among other places, which would track in real time the progress of the campaign. That progress, as of early Tuesday morning, was a total of $0.00 donated to the fund.
Soper said nothing about the campaign on the livestream, instead, he announced a new contest where his fans in the Maryland area could donate $5.00 to the GoFundMe with the word “Sushi” included in the nation line to qualify for a free sushi dinner with him.
No terms or conditions or deadlines were announced for the new contest, and it wasn’t clear if Soper was serious enough about the announcement to carry through to find a winner.
The SCARS GoFundMe campaign last saw a donation in January of this year following increased scrutiny about his organization. While confirmed as a 501(c)(3) organization, donations dried up by the end of January due to the continuing controversies surrounding Soper and his organization.
Soper spent most of the 30-minute livestream eating sushi and providing call outs to fans and friends in his side chat while bragging about which credit card he’d use to pay for his meal.
He briefly addressed his on-going appeal of his felony convictions in Maryland for recording in a Veteran’s Administration facility. He promised the police involved in the arrest would eventually lose their jobs before turning his attention back to finishing his meal.
The market itself was down for the day, as only Clash with Bao’s GoFundMe campaign saw new donations. It took in $20 to continue its on-going win streak.
JOURNALISM IN CRISIS
Both ReallyCoolSite.org’s daily newspaper and our daily newscasts are funded by your continuing donations and what we make from our YouTube AdSense revenue each month.
If you’d like to contribute to help us keep the lights on, eating, keeping the cats fed and writing new stories to feature on both the newspaper and newscast each day, we do have a GoFundMe set up at: https://gofund.me/76d87459
As real American and true protector of the first amendment Lane Myers has made multiple threats to sue us in recent days, portions of all donations may also go towards fighting any possible future lawsuits.
If you can’t afford to contribute, please watch our entire videos, like, share, subscribe and comment. You CAN help by doing next to nothing and we thank you in advance for pitching in!
