Denver area anti-police protestor and activist for the homeless Regan Benson made her monthly stop at Denver’s District 3 Community Citizen’s Advisory Board (CAB) where she may have found a new lawsuit to file over the depravation of her first amendment rights.
At issue is a large display that had been a prominent feature in the lobby at district three for, according to Commander Joel Bel, five years. The display was heart shaped and it featured blue tape that patrons were encouraged to write compliments for the officers in the district on then affix them to the display.
In late summer of 2025, Benson wrote negative comments about Commander Bell and Sergeant Brian O’Neill and affixed them to the display. In a return visit, she could not find the comments on the display and assumed they had been removed by staff.
Benson and Christopher “Denver Metro Audits” Cordova then wrote new negative comments and affixed them to the display, only to return to find the entire display gone on Wednesday.
When Benson inquired about the display with Commander Bell, she was told that he made the decision to remove the display as it had served its purpose and had been up since before COVID.
Benson said nothing negative in the presence of Commander Bell but rushed out to the lobby to throw shade on the Commander’s decision to Luis “Real Constitutional Upholders” Johnson, who had accompanied her to the meeting.
The YouTuber and sometime activist for the homeless classified the actions by Commander Bell as another perceived punishment to squash her rights and implied that she would be following up on the decision with further action.
Benson then discussed her pending Friday preliminary injunction hearing in her on-going lawsuit against District 3. She is suing as she was not allowed to apply for a position on Denver’s Use of Force Board.
Claiming that she had evidence that a member of the board told her that she was treated differently due to her outspoken opinions and negative interactions with police. Benson said that the denial was “stupid” as the work involved in being a member of the board would have greatly diminished the time she had to devote to her anti-police activities.

Denver PD keeps it strong with the 1A retaliation. They can’t stand me because they keep getting exposed for behaving badly. That is why they are constantly drumming up BS criminal cases on me and throwing me in jail. Well that and they don’t like me cussing them out and saying mean things that hurt their feelings- so they abuse their authority with the blessing of their superiors.
As some of you know, Joel Bell is the most recent Denver cop (commander of D3) to take a stab at taking me down with a BS criminal case that Denver’s DA continues to move forward on.
Imagine Bell being one of the defendants in this case. He’s upp’ing the retaliation game and is now claiming I am, or was, an “imminent threat” on his life. I’m not sure what story DPD is running with this week about me.
Sgt. Bryan Cry Me a River Oneill, his buddy, tried it too. FAIL.
Command staff told me because of MY HISTORY with the Denver Police Department, I could not apply to serve on the use of force board in the citizen volunteer capacity. This volunteer position has absolutely ZERO decision making power. They just don’t want me asking any questions so they wouldn’t even give me an opportunity to even apply to be treated LIKE EVERY OTHER handpicked bootlicker. Well, that wasn’t very nice of them. All the time I GIVE and am STILL willing to GIVE, to actually serve the people.

Not because they historically encourage, support and participate in violence perpetrated against me. Not because they get sued repeatedly for HISTORICAL civil rights violations. They’re going to try to tell some story to the judge, I suppose. They’ll say that I cuss too much and am too mean to be on the use of force board because all the cops within the command structure of the DPD, fear for their lives because of Regan Benson.

Predicting a complete victory in the lawsuit, she would explain that she had been a member of the Toast Masters speaking group and she learned that ineffective speakers would be tuned out by their audience when a focus was presented on other factors besides their words.
She explained that her use of vulgarity against police and government officials was calculated and that the use would ensure that the police always were aware of her words and opinions.
Benson is expected to go live on Friday shortly after the preliminary injunction hearing.
