Floyd Wallace made his triumphant return to America this week and ran smack into a dose of reality as the country has changed in the year since he’s actually lived in the country.
The YouTuber complained about inflation in his first couple of live streams since returning to Houston last week. He seemed to have trouble reconciling the fact that things were a lot less expensive in the third world countries he has lived in over the past year.
He also pondered his future. He’s a black man living in America with no friends or support system in Texas. He’s pushing thirty, he has a felony on his record, and he still wants to travel rather than settling down with a job.
Wallace doesn’t have transportation at this time as he said his old car was involved in an accident with a semi last year and was totaled. Complaining bitterly about inflated ride sharing prices, Wallace naturally embarked on a crowdfunding campaign to earn enough money to buy a cheap car from Facebook marketplace.
Of course, no one is pitching in at the level he expected, so he’s ranting at his viewers again. His multiple videos on Thursday and Friday saw him expressing his concern that none of his viewers would help fund his quest for $750 to put towards buying a car off of Facebook Marketplace.
Adding to Wallace’s problems comes a new update to his Oklahoma criminal case. Wallace faces charges of obstructing a police officer from an August 2023 arrest in Norman, Oklahoma.
Wallace Arrested, Released, in Oklahoma
On that day, Wallace had live streamed while he prowled around the parking lot of a police station in Norman, the video of which was later restreamed on Jose “Chille” DeCastro’s channel.
When approached by police, Wallace started screaming orders at police and was eventually taken into custody for obstruction. DeCastro then held an emergency fundraiser for Wallace’s bond, which was raised and saw Wallace released hours later.
Upon his release after being bailed out by DeCastro, he returned to the police parking lot to confront police and then failed in his attempt to file a complaint against the officers who arrested him.
That case has lingered in the Oklahoma court system for the past year until Friday when jury selection was scheduled for August 14, 2024.
In a weird development, Wallace’s court date coincides with Jason Dollarhide’s jury selection in front of the same Judge in Oklahoma. Wallace had been accused by Dollarhide’s wife Heather of sexual assault before Jose DeCastro allegedly paid her to drop potential charges against Wallace last year.
