YouTube sensation, grandma, and self-appointed watchdog of Englewood, Colorado government, Regan Benson gave an hour and fifteen minute “story time” lecture to her fans on Saturday afternoon that covered her “divine” status, her thoughts on Canadians, and, of course, her opinions on everything Englewood.
Benson had parked outside of an Englewood fire station to monitor the actions of the fire station and police and rescue units. While she was waiting for any sort of action, she complained about those who reside in Englewood begging for a larger police force as she hadn’t seen any police cars during her two-hour monitoring session.
Before launching into her new obsession, attacking the emergency services dispatchers in Englewood, she reported that Phil, a homeless man she was attempting to get into permanent housing, was back on the street as she had failed to obtain enough donations to keep him in a motel for another week.
She also announced that Robert, a homeless man who lost his foot to frostbite and was also in Benson’s care, was having problems with his case manager who gave Benson “attitude” and would not allow Robert to have a small refrigerator in his housing unit that her fans had bought for him.
Going further, she alluded to a situation where the caseworker was somehow preventing Robert from receiving his prosthetic foot. She stopped before making direct accusations of wrongdoing but left the accusations dangle as she moved forward.
Benson is current campaigning to have actions taken against Englewood’s Emergency Services dispatchers. She is upset that Frauditor Troll aired on his YouTube channel a call he made to dispatch where a dispatcher openly talked about Benson and Benson’s current court cases.
Since the call, Benson has launched an all-out assault on the Emergency Services dispatchers, which joins her assaults on Emergency Services in Englewood in general, Englewood’s police force and City Planner Shawn Lewis.
It all is a mess of tangled Reganisms where she attempts to convince her audience that she was picked by the divine to help the homeless and that her life is constantly in danger from police and other forces that were amassed to “take her out.”
A bit of paranoia, a bit of sarcasm, a lot of hot air, and a side chat of under 100 people devoted to her every word as she tells her tales of how the government is conspiring to make everyone’s lives worse.
The rest of the “story time” hour plus was spent rehashing the same stories about a drunken man falling in a parking lot two weeks ago, a homeless man attacking a friend of Benson, and Benson’s anger that police released the homeless man from the hospital before allowing Benson to get the man into her care.
It was a literal rinse and repeat of the same stories she’s been telling for the last week, with slight additions as she named the EMS dispatchers she had disputes with, and she made sure to highlight the fact that Englewood contracts their Emergency Services from Denver.
Why is this important? Because as a resident of Denver, her taxes somehow pay for those services and because she pays taxes in Denver, she is thus, the unofficial boss of everything Englewood.
The next Englewood city council meeting is scheduled for July 1, 2024, Benson is expected to attend.
