There are days when it’s disappointing to be right. We had goose eggs again as we predicted yesterday, so the headline again is no winners for Monday’s GoFundMe war.
It’s simple, if you don’t tell people about your product, they’re not going to go looking for that product. The same goes for your campaign to raise money. It’s not some old baseball movie, if you build it, you have to tell people about it or they’re not going to get off their butts and HELP OUT.
We’re just as guilty of it. Almost every other day we forget to include the little passage about our GoFundMe campaign and fail to take our own advice, resulting in days going by without mentioning it and days going by without a donation.
It’s easy to forget and easy to ignore but the fact that it’s happening so often doesn’t help our case just like it doesn’t help any of the auditors involved in the campaigns we follow when they get out of the habit of asking for help.
Jose “Chille” DeCastro almost got it on Monday. His latest jail cell phone call/whine about doing “hard time” in a medium-minimum area, actually showed the name of one of his campaigns clearly but, again, failed to provide a URL or make a direct pitch to his followers that he’s in dire need of help.
Christopher “Denver Metro Audits” Cordova was another one who had a ton of screen time last night, going live with partner in auditing Regan Benson but… didn’t take the opportunity to promote his URL or his products or even his channel as he ranted and raved and sucked the life out of the room during his speech in Englewood, Colorado.
Life is about opportunity. You only get so many times to get eyes on you. Even the self-proclaimed best auditors in the world need to remember that if they ever want to dig themselves out of the deep financial holes they find themselves in.
THAT SAID, if you’d like to contribute to our own funding, we do have a GoFundMe of our own located at https://gofund.me/b8144e31. All proceeds go to keeping the lights on, eating, and writing new stories to feature here and on reallycoolsite.org.
