It was going so well. We were headed towards day four of goose eggs, we even had a spectacular musical number devoted to expressing our extreme joy of another day when we came closer to actually retiring the column.
But then it happened… a note. A note indicating that we should expand our horizons. That we should experiment. That we should look outside the tidy little group of campaigns and see if there was actual life out there.
Four links were forced upon us and… somebody new won the titled for the day.
Asselmo won the day with a $50.00 take because of it.
Yes, Auditing America aka Asselmo won the day.
He was added along with our own On-going expenses campaign, a campaign devoted just to spite Jose “Chille” DeCastro and, lord, a sixth campaign for Long Island Audit.
We’ll talk about Auditing America in a separate article, since the biggest one to cover now would be SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes’ campaign to buy himself a billboard truck.
The campaign has already hit a 58% completion rate and has earned $11,521.00 out of a goal of $20,000.00 and is intended to help raise funds for a box truck that is covered in electronic signs that display insults and harassing messages towards those people he doesn’t like.
He had previously rented the truck and placed it outside of homes of police officers that he was targeting. The truck was programmed to display anti-police messaging, harassment and insults to display 24/7 in their neighborhoods.
The targeting harassment brought calls to the police, who then ticketed LIA for various reasons and thus, he then used the tickets to convince his fans to donate to this fund to purchase said truck… despite the fact that he’s already purchased it.
According to the description of campaign, “I have purchased an LED Billboard Truck For $165,000. I will use this truck to expose tyranny in our government. I appreciate all of your support. None of this would be possible without you.”
So Long Island Audits had enough money on hand to pay for a $165,000.00 billboard truck yet is still running a campaign for his fans to give him $20,000.00 towards… gas? A vanity “1A@@HLE” license plate? Audit Them to serve as his personal man servant?
I know I got attacked last week for promoting the needs of the strays we care for by merely mentioning our Amazon registry on this broadcast. A situation where I’m not going touch any of that money, let alone eat the food myself, resell it or anything else, but this… he’s already bought the truck. He’s raising money for reasons? Yeah.
Finally, another criticism thrown this morning by a troll during our morning week in review broadcast was that I am somehow criticizing the people involved in the GoFundMes for raising money from their followers. I’m not. I’m perfectly fine with people raising money for actual needs.
What I criticize is the absolute laziness or incompetence of those running their campaigns. The “build it and they will donate” only works for… well, LIA and people who don’t need the money. The rest of the world must earn it, one dollar at a time.
And that’s your takeaway as I remind you that…
