For the second day in a row the “world’s greatest auditors” failed to bring in a dime from their fans and their GoFundMe campaigns lay lifeless, casualties of high heat, apathy and well… the summertime blues.
It’s Summer now in North America, with the solstice tearing through the country like bad cheese through an old man’s intestines, I’m not sure I’m going with this so uh, technical issues, too weird for the viewership and… take two.
Despite the heat, apathy and America currently rejecting anything to do with auditors, there will always be a need for first amendment auditors for at least someone one for tired folks to point and laugh at while writing weird columns at 4AM.
The king of all auditors, of course, is Jose “Chille” DeCastro. He’s jailed now. He got in the face of a cop in Las Vegas and didn’t understand that in Vegas, anarchy isn’t going to win.
In the “old days” the mob would probably have made him yet another occupant of a hole in the desert. Never to be found for hundreds of years, much like every other tourist and yahoo who came through making too many loud noises in the pre-Howard Hughes days of the mob in Vegas.
Vegas got arguably worse AFTER the mob was bought out by corporations. The sole purpose of the town is to be a destination where nice hard-working people lose all their money to the casinos. It’s really that simple.
The corporations want to present a fairly nice place to go to relax, mildly indulge “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” and lose all your money to the casinos. They recently changed roulette to make it harder to win, raised minimums on table games and tightened up slot machines to the point where there has been some pushback.
Not enough pushback to stop the average American coming in to lose all of their money while in town, but enough to note and avoid if you’re smart with your money.
Vegas is about order. Vegas is about control. Vegas is going to win, because they run the system and there really isn’t a chance for folks like DeCastro to run their mouths and try to “change the system.”
They see millions of loud-mouthed tourists a day and I would guesstimate that 1 in 100,000 pull the same games as DeCastro did and try to get a fat payoff from the police by staging an incident (which he admitted to on multiple livestreams), to give them standing to sue.
And they never win. You don’t win in Vegas, no matter how loud you are. You don’t go against the system; you don’t attack Judges or send your people to “petition” to force them to do anything.
DeCastro is playing a losing hand in Vegas and with 40 days to go before he’s released, he may want to rethink and go for easier targets where the system isn’t literally rigged against him and everyone else.
As always, if you’d like to keep us reporting new stories every day, we do have a GoFundMe of our own located at https://gofund.me/b8144e31. All proceeds go to keeping the lights on, eating, and writing new stories to feature here and on reallycoolsite.org.
