Frauditor Troll made headlines on Thursday with his claims that Christopher “Denver Metro Audits” Cordova was due in court for a hearing in his appeal of his 2023 conviction of recording in a Social Security building.
Cordova’s appeal has been lingering within the system for some time, with the opening brief by Cordova coming in April and the response brief by the prosecution coming in May.
Oddly, the YouTuber was reported to only challenge the sentencing in the case, not the actual verdict which found him guilty of failure to comply with official signs or an officer and recording in a Social Security Office.
The incident happened in 2022 when Cordova led a group of auditors to mass protest at a Social Security Administration building. They were surprisingly joined by Jose “Chille” DeCastro, who encouraged Cordova to cross the threshold into the Social Security Administration building and assured him he’d be right there with him to bail him out.
Cordova, who had been bad mouthing DeCastro on camera any time DeCastro was out of ear shot, was slightly surprised when DeCastro did not accompany him into the Social Security office. He was arrested on scene but later released without incident.
As previously reported, the appeal focused on the definition of a lobby with Cordova’s attorney again claiming that the area within the building where he entered was an open lobby area where he should have been able to film despite signage indicating otherwise.
Frauditor Troll indicated that he would have a reporter on scene during the hearing today, which apparently is to decide the case, though no hearing is noted in the court record on Court Listener. That reporter will provide a first-hand account of the proceedings later today.
Update: Frauditor Troll’s reporter was on hand for the hearing and claimed that both sides were given the opportunity to be heard.
DMA’s lawyer apparently challenged both the verdict and the sentencing in the case.
DMA was not present at the hearing.
The judge stated that she would file her ruling at a later date.
