Jose “Chille” DeCastro seemed to have heard the persistent cries of “do better” from those of us who follow the GoFundMe markets as he initiated changes on his channel over the past week, which may have led to his win GoFundMe win on Thursday.
DeCastro again outpaced all the other campaigns we follow by actually taking in money to their campaigns (something even WE can’t seem to do these days), and earned the win with a ginormous take of $200.00 from a single donation to his “Legal Aid Fund, Donation Fund, Help People Fund.”
Thursday’s changes saw Brian “Here’s the Deal” Young return to the channel to promote DeCastro’s product line – using DeCastro’s famous trifold as a green screen behind him – and cover a wide range of topics in a more “Chille like” approach to auditing.
Young and DeCastro had previously been at odds with one another over comments made by Paul Unslaved on a live interview presented on Young’s “Here’s the Deal” channel.
Young appeared to agree with Paul Unslaved’s criticism of DeCastro for claiming to be a “Constitutional Law Scholar” while relying on lawyers in his criminal cases when he lacked the actual knowledge to defend himself.
The YouTuber also seemed to agree with Paul Unslaved’s comments that DeCastro should stop “whining” about his time in jail and serve his time “like a man.”
Young’s return to live hosting on DeCastro’s channel did a respectable 6,600 views in the 14 hours since it went live, but, alas, could not compare to the numbers put up by Michael Ehline’s last live appearance on DeCastro’s channel which apparently “organically” brought in 58,000 views since going live earlier in the week.
While that number was no where reflective of the viewing numbers that Ehline’s lives do on DeCastro’s channel or his own channel, it has to be disappointing to the team as they did so many things right in their latest presentation to right the sinking ship and bring in donations and weren’t rewarded by the massive viewing numbers that Ehline got earlier in the week.
They promoted the products! They showed examples of the product (okay a stretch but the background kind of counts since it’s the trifold)! They even put an actual auditor up to host to connect with DeCastro’s audience!
It worked, as DeCastro took in $200.00 to one of his GoFundMe campaigns without even mentioning the URL for the campaign… but there’s still the comparison to Ehline’s huge numbers that will always dog them until they can reach the point where they can match his successes on DeCastro’s channel.
