YouTuber Carolyn “Carolina in Ft. Worth” Rodriguez made bond Monday afternoon and was released from the Lon Evans Correction Center and made a statement on her attorney’s livestream before returning home to recover.
Rodriguez appeared on attorney CJ Grisham’s livestream immediately after being released from the facility, where she said that “excessive force” was used on her but that she couldn’t remember the ride to the hospital or being processed at the jail.
Wearing a sling and showing contusions to her right eye, nose and lip, she said that she had stitches in her eye and that her elbow and shoulder were wrenched from their sockets. She was on her way home from the hospital where CJ Grisham said she would need a lot of rest to help heal from her injuries.
YouTuber MERB pointed out that Grisham’s approach to due process had changed when he was not defending someone accused of an unspeakable incident. Grisham had previously defended clients Jack “Texas Sheepdog” Miller and Earl David Worden, who are accused of possessing child pornography and child molestation respectively. In those cases, he asked for everyone to show restraint and get the facts first before making up their minds about the guilt of his clients.
Grisham was still in full attack mode on Monday, labeling Matthew Kruger, the officer involved in the incident, as “Freddie Kruger” and portraying him as a bad cop that needed to be removed from the streets.
Even before talking to Rodriguez’s doctors or Rodriguez herself, Grisham announced that he felt from the snoring he heard during the incident, that Rodriquez had experienced traumatic brain injuries. He then listed a number of criminal and civil actions he would immediately undertake against Officer Kruger, the police force of Fort Worth and the city of Fort Worth, Texas.
In interviews with news outlets on Monday, he continued to portray Kruger as a dirty cop, someone who needed to be taken off the force for our own protection, and who was absolutely guilty beyond a reasonable doubt without trial or conviction or evidence to prove anything.
Rodriguez’s camera did not capture video of what happened, just audio. No body cam footage has been released so far, though several news outlets and prominent individuals in the 1A Auditing community (on both sides) have claimed that they will attempt to obtain the footage.
The only statements by Rodriquez so far are limited to “excessive force.” Perhaps she is holding back a statement, perhaps she doesn’t remember, but, as of press time, she has not detailed exactly what happened other than “excessive force” was used.
After police looked at what is said to have happened, she was still charged with four counts and had to go before a judge to make bail. She paid four individual cash bonds of $1,000.00 and obtained her release on Monday, with hearings to come should the district attorney pick up the charges.
With the public outcry and auditors from across the nation making bucks off fundraising campaigns “for Carolyn” where their fans can donate towards the cause with a wink and a nudge that the money will go to Rodriguez.
Grisham has stated that any money sent to him, or YouTuber Melissa Steadman would go directly to Rodriguez. He would not vouch for any other fundraising efforts.
