Carolyn “Carolina in Ft. Worth” Rodriguez was hospitalized and later jailed Sunday after an arrest by Fort Worth, Texas, police turned violent.
Rodriguez was filming in downtown Fort Worth in the early hours of Sunday morning. She broadcasted twice (linked above), with the first livestream setting up the fact that she was on the street after the bars were closing and police were clearing “kids” from the streets.
The first stream was fairly standard for Rodriguez, she shared her opinions about police while giving a stream of consciousness account of her surroundings. At one point stopping to pick up a dime and commenting that finding a dime means that someone who is dead is thinking of you.
Continuing walking, she came across a building with a private parking lot. Police were in the process of having illegally parked cars towed from the lot when Rodriguez’s first live stream ended and the second began.
Ignoring her surroundings, Rodriguez wondered aloud how police knew the difference between the cars that were legally and illegally parked in the lot. She asked a male police officer, who ignored her question and walked away from her.
She then tried to approach two female officers, who also ignored her even after she yelled “Help! Help! Rape! Fire!” She was then confronted by a male and a female officer. She apparently recognized the male as she called him “Kruger.”
The male officer aggressively asked what she was doing and claimed he had previously told her that she needed to leave the area and could record from across the street. As she has done in past arrests, she began to aggressively talk back at the officer, who immediately lost patience with her and announced she was under arrest.
Rodriguez’s camera went dark, the male officer screamed stop resisting, a thud could be heard followed by immediate snoring. The female officer could be heard saying “she’s bleeding” as the male officer called for an ambulance.
Initially, there wasn’t a lot of coverage from the community, but by noon Eastern time, the situation escalated with friends of Rodriguez posting videos in support of her and calling for the immediate firing of Officer Matthew Kruger.

Rodriguez spent most of the day in the hospital before being transferred to the Fort Worth jail and later transferred to the Lon Evans Correction Center. She is facing charges of False Alarm or Report, Interfere with Public Duties, Resist Arrest Search or Transport and Evading Arrest Detention. Each of the charges are listed as having individual bond amounts of $1,000.00.
Attorney CJ Grisham, who claims to be representing Rodriguez, offered updates throughout the day despite not talking to his client. He asked for her fans to protest outside of the detention center and promised that he would be attempting to press charges against the officers involved in his client’s arrest.
