YouTuber Floyd Wallace’s plan to move to Nebraska hit a major snag on Thursday night as he apparently broke the front axle of his 2012 Chevy Impala when delivering it to a repair shop to have what he described as a “rubbing noise” investigated.
Wallace was planning to use the Impala as his primary moving vehicle as he was leaving for his new home in Omaha, Nebraska, this weekend. The YouTuber had previously arranged to take up residence in his cousin’s apartment and claimed that he had a job at a meat packing plant waiting for him.
The Impala had sat unused for quite some time as Wallace had been out of the country and then in jail in the early part of the year. He said he needed to have it jump started on Thursday and then he made it a few scant miles before the axle broke, necessitating a tow from AAA to make it to the repair shop.
A despondent Wallace initially said he was having thoughts of self-harm before one of his members of his chat talked him out of the idea. He then pondered his future and if he could get a CDL license or find a job as he was a certified forklift driver.
Wallace would then livestream multiple times on Friday morning, rage quitting at least one of the broadcasts. Wallace had explored options on his livestreams should the Impala need to be scrapped. He determined that a U-Haul rental was out of the question due to price, and his best bet would probably be to use UPS to ship the remaining items out of his apartment and take a bus to Omaha.
Later, Wallace received an initial $416.00 estimate for repairs to the axel. Wallace said that he needed to fundraise for $197.00 as he would put up the rest of the money himself. Wallace began to fundraise for the money, including doing pushups on camera for donations.
Offering a special deal, Wallace said that if he raised the $197.00, it would be the last time until October that he would fundraise for anything. Though he would still open the promised GoFundMe account for his trip to Asia later this year.
After nearly killing himself with the workout, Wallace raised $162.00 and was finding ways to make money when he received more bad news. The mechanic called and the $416.00 estimate was now $1058.00, later knocked down to $1,000.00 as the car had more damage than expected.
Wallace again became despondent and ended the livestream soon after that.
The YouTuber is expected to livestream again later on Friday.
