Fans of YouTuber Lane Myers were shocked to find that the YouTuber may not have been truthful in statements he’s made to Judge D. Douglas Metcalf in hearings related to the multiple sets of felony and misdemeanor charges he’s facing in Arizona Superior Court.
Myers began complaining that he had been denied access to the Pima County Adult Detention Center’s law library last month as he had yet to be arraigned for the second set of charges he’s facing.
A motion was made and granted on March 28, 2025, to permit Myers access to the law library. On April 1, Myers informed the court that the Pima County Adult Detention Center’s law library had been shut down two years ago and all the information was now stored on the tablets that inmates have access to.
Myers has indicated that there is only one tablet per 25 inmates and asked to be issued special time with a tablet to help him represent himself in court.
A new filing by the State’s prosecutor office indicates that on April 2, 2025, the state learned that Myers’ statement that there was only a single tablet per 25 inmates was false and that Myers is housed in an area that has a tablet for every two-person jail cell.
It was further learned that every inmate has free access to the law library with legal resources provided via LexisNexis. No special access was needed, as Myers had theoretically had access to the tablet and legal resources.
On April 10, 2025, the captain of the jail indicated that Myers has been accessing the law library via LexisNexis since March 21, 2025. If true, Myers has been apparently dishonest in his representation of the status of his ability to defend himself.
This is important as Myers and his supporters have been rallying for home detention as an option instead of a no bond situation as Myers supposedly lacked the resources to defend himself due to the lack of access to the law library.
The filing also notes that Myers, like all inmates, can purchase paper and writing utensils from the jail’s commissary. The prosecutor’s office has also offered to provide Myers’ advisory attorney, William Parven, with a laptop to use to help in his role to help defend Myers.
If Myers were of indigent status, he would be provided with writing utensils and paper by filing a form with the detention center.
In related news, Myers’ GiveSendGo campaign took in another $100.00 on Thursday with a single donation coming in to end his six-day donation drought. GiveSendGo payouts are almost immediate, bringing the amount of donations for the month to $465.00.
There were interesting moves at the end of the week as the market began to close out a week dominated by SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes. Reyes’ Support the Fight Against Tyranny & Corruption GoFundMe campaign took in another $5.00 to secure second place for the day.
In a strange move, the long-running unofficial “Just to spite Chille DeCastro” campaign has apparently been removed by GoFundMe. The campaign was seeking $50.00 to be used to “spite” Jose “Chille” DeCastro. It was last recorded as having no donations as of Thursday morning and was removed from the platform sometime during the day on Thursday.
More interesting news saw Christopher “Direct D” Ruff’s “Help Christopher Ruff (Direct D) Clear His Name!” fund lose $40.00 between Thursday and Friday mornings. No explanation has been given for the missing money, though in previous cases, the money is usually due to a refund issued by the campaign.
Ruff has been making headlines for his recent split from YouTuber MitChLOVIN. The two have aired a number of dirty laundry issues on recent live streams, with MitChLOVIN accusing Ruff of animal abuse and Ruff mocking MitChLOVIN for having his feelings hurt and living in his car.
We will continue to monitor the situation with Ruff’s GoFundMe and provide updates when we have them.
