Jose “Chille” DeCastro returned to livestreaming Saturday night with two brief streams as he battled possibly “thirsting” himself while extolling the dangers of embracing an authoritarian government in the name of “justice.”
DeCastro started his first livestream by announcing that he was in the Phoenix, Arizona, area and that it was 112F outside. He said that he wanted to start his lecture on authoritarian governments but didn’t have any water, so he reluctantly stopped the stream until he could find a source of water.
Returning some time later, DeCastro had now ditched his massive blue light prevention sunglasses and was drinking from a bottle of water. Looking haggard and tired, with the dry air of Arizona wreaking havoc on his delicate skin, he addressed his fans on the horrors of the authoritarianism he said was present in America.
DeCastro refused to distinguish between the extreme measures taken by ICE agents in their near daily crackdowns on immigrants across the country with the policies, practices and protocols of police encountering citizens during traffic stops.
The YouTuber embraced the idea that all law enforcement used the same tactics regardless of target and that when ICE finished ridding the United States of those who are in the country illegally, they’ll turn their attention to citizens.
Diminutive in size, but not in moral outrage, DeCastro said that he had to stand up against his “closest friends” and family members, who currently embraced the ideology presented by United States President Donald J. Trump.
DeCastro warned everyone that while most of his viewers also backed ICE’s activities in America, they must be vigilant in what they accepted in the name of “justice.” He again asserted that the practices he was seeing ICE use would be just a dry run for the practices that would then be used against ordinary citizens who dissented in the future.
The stream itself was viewed 4,482 times since release and brought in $44.00 in super chat donations and 34 comments to 214 likes. It peaked at 229 concurrent viewers during the stream.
DeCastro did not address any of his on-going lawsuits, including his newly filed lawsuit against YouTuber John “Irish Demon” O’Dea, where DeCastro is represented by that Randall S. “The Unhinged Attorney” Newman, Esq.
The YouTuber’s own actions and commentary may prove damaging to that lawsuit. That lawsuit hinges on the idea that it was O’Dea’s actions of allegedly bombing DeCastro’s channel with adult material caused the steep declines in viewership and revenue experienced by DeCastro’s YouTube channel over the past year.
This flies in the face of DeCastro’s own admissions that his current views on President Trump’s immigration crackdowns and extreme policing put him at odds with his current viewers.
DeCastro’s own reliance on streaming in vertical format to increase his views has also come at the expense of revenue. Vertical livestreams receive lower ad revenue than their horizontal counterparts and DeCastro often fails to take advantage of YouTube’s guidance for promoting member super chats, gifting and rubies to make up for lost revenue.
The YouTuber ultimately ended his livestream after fifteen minutes due to the extreme heat and low viewer turnout.
DeCastro is expected to livestream again later this week.
