In an update to our recent story on Welsh News Network owner Daniel Jones’ claims that Jose “Chille” DeCastro orchestrated the copyright strikes that took his channel down, DeCastro issued a statement denying the accusations through his attorney, that Randall S. “The Unhinged Attorney” Newman, Esq.
DeCastro statement simply said, “Chille has not given a copyright Strike to WNN since 2023.”
The denial comes after a dramatic week where Jones released a community post on Tuesday blaming DeCastro for the pending termination of his channel.
Jones wrote, “This Channel is due to removed by youtube on the 23rd of July due to copyright strikes filed by Chille “ Delete Laws “ Decastro, I have filed counter claims but youtube keeps rejecting them. So it looks like this channel will be deleted on the 23rd.”
To observers, the timing of Jones’ claims did not make sense. DeCastro had only announced that he was taking civil action, which turned out to be his seeking of a subpoena for information regarding YouTuber Irish Demon, moments before Jones’ announcement.
The announcement also was questionable as it flew in the face of events surrounding the removal of 1A Audits Exposé’s channel earlier in the month. The Canadian YouTuber was given over a week to resolve issues with his channel before it was set to be terminated. 1A Audits Exposé made the decision to voluntarily suspend his channel two days before the deadline.
No other civil action has been filed by DeCastro against Jones, or anyone else since the filing of his subpoena against Irish Demon.
However, Jones’ channel was terminated by YouTube on Wednesday, as links to his previous community post were replaced with a message stating, “This account has been terminated because we received multiple third-party claims of copyright infringement regarding material the user posted.”
DeCastro and Jones have a long-standing history of animosity as Jones frequently replayed DeCastro’s broadcasts on WNN nightly panel shows. Jones had previously blamed DeCastro’s actions for at least one suspension by YouTube and temporarily demonetization of the WNN channel.
A Jones channel takedown would be a rare win for the diminutive YouTuber, who is seeking to enforce his copyright through legal means, so it is unclear why he would make a statement contradicting his apparent success at this time.
Former fans of Jones, however, are left wondering if this was one last deceptive practice on his part to explain the end of his channel by blaming it on his sworn enemy.
This is a breaking news story.
Full disclosure: ReallyCoolSite.org worked in conjunction with the Welsh News Network from March of 2023 until May of 2024. Owner/Operator Jim Finch served as a panel member on WNN broadcasts during that time. That connection was severed in May of 2024 due to the events outlined in this news report. ReallyCoolSite.org and its YouTube channel, ReallyCoolNews, had no connection with Jones at the time of his channel removal.
