YouTuber and apparent former advocate for the homeless Regan Benson apparently changed course on Friday, returning her YouTube channel to its original “Regan Benson” name and returning the vast majority of videos that had previously been hidden from public view.
It was noted on Wednesday that Benson had changed the name of her page to “5280 Outreach” and had removed two years’ worth of produced videos from public view. The channel reverted back to its original name on Thursday and her public statement announcing the end of her homeless outreach program remains in place.
What’s changed since Tuesday?
Benson announced on her community page, another “win” in her war against Denver police.

DENVER JURY FINDS ME NOT GUILTY TODAY!! I win, again. Oh snap. Poor Oneill, he’s 0 for 3 in taking down Regan. I think he’s mad. He helped the case. He made a COMPLETE fool of himself, again.
This is the latest in a string of “wins” for Benson as she received $130,000.00 in settlement money from Denver in July after settling two cases where she alleged retaliatory arrest and violation of her first amendment rights.
Benson had been arrested for filming within a Denver district 3 police department last year by Sgt. Brian O’Neill. The arrest was aired live on her YouTube channel, with a fan in the area coming to retrieve her devices after seeing that Benson was being arrested.
Apparently as part of Benson’s settlements with Denver, signs prohibiting recording in Denver area police stations have been removed.
Also, as part of the settlements, the Denver Police Department admitted no wrongdoing, though released documents have shown that internal investigations found that officers acted improperly in both incidents that inspired the lawsuits.
We will continue to monitor Benson’s page for further changes.
