The YouTuber known as the First Amendment Protection Agency (FAPA) livestreamed from the Ayer, Massachusetts police department Thursday morning as he claimed he was there to file a police report on the senior citizen he attacked last Friday outside of a marijuana dispensary in the city.
The YouTuber started his livestream by parking his vehicle down the street from the police department, claiming it was a precaution in case police arrest him and try to seize his vehicle. He then entered the police department and was directed to a side room by dispatch to wait for an officer.
The responding officer asked what the report was about and FAPA claimed that he was a victim of assault and assault and battery last Friday as the man he’s reporting allegedly put his hands on FAPA and he needed to defend himself.
Responding to FAPA, the officer indicated that the police force does not typically file charges for simple assault and battery unless the people involved in the assault were involved in a significant relationship. The officer directed FAPA to go to the Ayer district court, where he would need to make his report.
FAPA noted that the police officer who responded to him was wearing a bodycam, when he had previously reported that Ayers officers did not have bodycam. He also asked for a complaint form so he could file a complaint against the officers involved in responding to the incident.
After the officer left, he complained that he had been charged with assault and battery after the incident and sarcastically said that he must have been in a relationship with the man who assaulted him. He then decided to fill out the complaint against the officers at home then have the complaint notarized before returning it.
On his way to the courthouse to file a complaint, he indicated he wasn’t out to “get paid,” but instead, he was standing up for his rights after the injustice he experienced on Friday after filming himself pepper spraying the senior citizen.
Once inside the courthouse, FAPA was told he could not record within the building. He protested that he was not within a “courtroom” and was escorted outside by security.
As security went to get him the guidelines prohibiting recording in the building, FAPA explained that he was out of bond and needed to comply with anything the officers said, otherwise he would make a bigger protest.
Returning with additional material, the security officer explained how to become a registered member of the press and that once registered, FAPA would be permitted to record within the building should a Judge allow it. FAPA refused to do so, and indicated that he would be live streaming after he filed his report against his victim.
FAPA also indicated during his livestream that he has not hired legal counsel, but did promote his merchandise line.
