SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes returned to the news on Tuesday as first year family law attorney John “Merb34st” Rietveld made public Reyes’s recent filings in his appeal of his conviction for trespassing at the home of a former Connecticut state trooper.
The filings, dated September 24, 2026, contain his preliminary statement of the issues and docketing statement.
According to the preliminary statement of the issues, Reyes is challenging multiple rulings by the Judge in the original case, including the screening process that Reyes had to undergo to be allowed to defend himself at trial.
Reyes famously fired his attorney in the case as the attorney was not allowed to share discovery with his client. The YouTuber also wanted the ability to directly question witnesses in the case.
The rotund YouTuber posed the following questions in his preliminary statement:
- Did the state fail to prove all elements of criminal trespass in the third degree beyond a reasonable doubt?
- Did the trial court erroneously equate a “Private Road” sign as the equivalent of a “No Trespassing” sign as adequate notice to prohibit entry by members of the public?
- Did the trial court err in concluding that past “enmity” between the defendant and the homeowner based on pending civil litigation but no violence or threat of violence, constituted “knowledge” that the defendant was not privileged or licensed to approach the front door?
- Did the trial court abuse its discretion in finding “good cause” to issue four standing criminal protective orders without prior notice to the defendant and without any evidence of violence, threats or any of the conduct enumerated in any of the protective orders themselves?
- Did the trial court impose an illegal sentence by imposing a standing criminal protective order until 2099 without prior notice and without following any of the mandates of a Connecticut general statute.
- Is the offense of criminal trespass in the third degree unconstitutionally vague as applied to the facts of the case?
- Is the offense of criminal trespass in the third degree unconstitutionally overbroad in violation of the first amendment to the United States Constitution and Article 4 and 5 of the Connecticut Constitution as applied to the conduct of the defendant as an online journalist and First Amendment Auditor who approached the front door of the complainant to conduct an interview with a former state actor?
- Does a “Private Road/Dead End/No Turnaround” sign apply to non-vehicular traffic?
- Does a property owner on a shared right of way have the legal authority to bar entrants to the common easement?
- Did the court adequately canvass the defendant before granting his permission to appear pro se at trial?
- Did the court adequately canvass the defendant about waiver of his right to a jury trial?
- Were there other statutory, constitutional and evidentiary errors that may present themselves after review of the record and transcript of the trial?
No hearing date has been announced for his appeal as of press time.
Reyes did manage to win Wednesday’s crowd sourcing title, taking in $25.00 to his We the People vs. Police Union Power campaign. No other campaigns that we follow saw donations for the day.

Bicycling enthusiast Lane Myers placed third for the month with $2,525.00 going towards his GiveSendGo account.
Roy “Pigs Under Pressure” Tripoloni’s campaign for James “James Freeman” Springer took in $968.00 for fourth place for the month.
John “First Amendment Protection Agency” Medaglia placed fifth with $726.00 spread across two GoFundMe campaigns. His ILLEGAL ARREST DEFENSE FUND!!! Brought in $325.00 and his CDS AWARENESS!! GOOD PEOPLE, FOR A GOOD CAUSE! Campaign took in $400 for the month.
Our own On-Going Expenses account brought in $550.00 for the month and sixth place.
