YouTuber and Google described social media influencer Lane Myers took part in a livestream from the Pima County Adult Correctional Facility as broadcast on Zachary “Liberty Troll” Kueker’s YouTube channel hours before the start of his second day of hearings to revoke his probation.
Myers took what he described as an “illegal plea deal” to bring an end to over a dozen charges he was facing following his actions against the wife of a Tucson area prosecutor. He was ultimately convicted of two felony charges and received three-years’ probation with strict probation conditions.
The bicycling enthusiast chose not to appeal conditions of his “illegal plea deal” post-conviction, waiting almost a year before challenging his probation conditions through a motion to modify the conditions that was heard and denied last month.
Social media influencer Myers has been in the Pima County Adult Correctional Facility after being arrested by his probation officer last month and Thursday’s hearing is part two of a probation revocation hearing that started on Tuesday.
When asked about appealing his conviction, Myers stated:
So why would they suddenly reverse all that for Lane Myers? Even though these people hate me, the appeals court loves my rights and they love my arguments and they love upholding people’s rights, and that’s exactly what’s gonna happen. So not only am I gonna sit in here for an undetermined who knows how long time just to find out if I violated it or not, if they actually find find me in violation, which they shouldn’t, because it’s not but the Metcalf’s a kangaroo so we know how kangaroos get off their they hop around law to law making it up as they go Then I’ll have to sit in w I mean I should get put back on probation like everybody else would, but you know they’ll argue for me to get life.
He later added:
Yeah, it’s a post-conviction relief. Just like the innocence project stuff. Absolutely, I’ll be fighting that.
It’ll get overturned, no doubt about it, because it involves First Amendment. It’s not a bank robbery or or, you know, a thing where the man does something, or um, you know, any of those type of charges which don’t matter The reason that people don’t understand that I did not weigh my rights to kill is because this is a matter of a First Amendment. This is this is a First Amendment.
You never lose your right for that. You never lose your ability to say that my rights are violated and that’s why I get out Now a lot of people plead guilty and then try to say it wasn’t them and that blah blah blah blah blah robbed the bank and all that. That’s totally different.
My conviction will be overturned at the speed of light once I file it, which I was getting ready to f it’s it’s ironic that I reached out to Rachel for some documentation. Rachel sponsored some for some documentation. to uh start the process for overturning the convictions and within a week I was in jail with no bond pending how no who knows how long.
Myers would go on to comment about the state of the current proceedings:
Oh well the answer to that troll is really simple. When this call ends, just go ahead and play the the hearings that would the only audio hearing that’s been allowed in this Because Rachel Stiles, you know, Rachel Stiles came to court to decide if I would get bought or not, and she made up a bunch of lies And it turns out, Rachel Stiles, you lied about a police report in Phoenix. You said I was facing possible charges in Phoenix, yet you haven’t even provided a police report.
So so I don’t want to sit here and take up our time explaining it. The answer is go listen to the hearing when they helped me with Mobile a few weeks ago. And you’ll hear everything they accuse me of and then look at the amended petition that was filed on Monday, the the day before the hearing, and you’ll see that it does not contain the allegations that they used the whole day with Milan.
So the reason they can hold me with no bond is, is because Rachel Stiles comes in and says a bunch of lies. And then the judge goes, oh, that sounds crazy. Hold them with no bond.
But now we’re at the hearing to see if I violated probation or not. And we went six hours of court. And they didn’t even talk about me violating probation yet until the end.
They played some clips and they haven’t even said how that’s a violation yet. And what’s confusing to me is Matt Walker’s on the stand But I don’t understand how Rachel is not proving the allegations. She’s just asking (the victim’s husband) on the stand if does he think that’s a violation or or why he thinks that’s a violation It’s it’s like nothing I’ve ever seen or heard of.
My lawyer Mark Resnick has never seen this either. They essentially have a prosecutor asking a prosecutor on the stand Why isn’t it my probation officer telling about the violation? Oh wait, because she put him up there and he and he couldn’t even tell you how I violated or when or why Because he had nothing to do with it.
Myers addressed his financial needs and comparing the outpouring of support to his cause with that of YouTuber James “James Freeman” Springer, who is facing trial in Pima County:
Like I need Because when I get out, I’m gonna be starting from scratch. Because I’m actually going negative right now by being in here. negative uh financially. And if it wasn’t for the generous donations I’ve already had, this problem would be even more urgent than it is now. Thankfully it’s like the middle of the month and I still got some time before the end of the month to try to raise enough.
Let me see so two let’s see uh About 750, 800. My bills are about seven fifty eight hundred a month. Because obviously I don’t need money for groceries because I’m in jail, right? You know what I’m trying to say?
But like just my just my baseline bills including the dog food, about 750, 800 a month. And then I also need to start raising money to get my own place. I’m gonna be I’m allowed to go back home for a few months and get on my feet and stuff.
She’s not she’s not just like But that’s if I’m as long as I keep paying my bills while I’m in here. So if if I keep my bills paid and my dog fed, I have a place to go back to to then gather up my stuff, apply for housing and do all that Which, you know, I’m gonna need to raise the money for that. So it’s like I can’t even save up money for that because I’m in here.
So Again though, every it’s like, and I’m not counting another man’s money, James Freeman got what he got. But it’s just really shocking to me that I’m in here for free speech And the and he’s a member of the First Amendment community. And there’s all these people that call themselves First Amendment community members on that.
And they raised eighty thousand for a guy that was sitting in jail on domestic violence. But when a guy sitting in here accused of showing his indictment or or the Google search bar showing something or a thumbnail or you know being willing to sit here and do interviews knowing they’re gonna keep giving me new charges on all I’m doing is talking about what’s happening in a courtroom. I guess I’m delusional if if that isn’t more worth I guess you know what I’m trying to say?
I’m not trying to say that James Freeman’s never done anything or make this about him or single him out or anything of that matter, right? It’s just a local example. We were sitting in literally we’re sitting in he was in a cell 20 feet away from our mom sitting in a cell.
They came up with all that money on the and and you know for his activism, but what activism was he currently involved in at that point? So it was just like a legacy thing for him. Well my legacy’s a lot longer.
I have case law. I have 54 and 2 I have, you know, never been accused of anything like that. Putting my hands on a woman or any of that kind of stuff.
Whether he did or not, I’m not sure. I’m just saying what the papers when I go to court it doesn’t say domestic violence. It says uh speech.
Myers’ statements about his lack of funding compared to the outpouring of financial support to Springer was notable as Myers received $10.00 in new donations towards his GiveSendGo account for Thursday.
Freeman, however, received $50.00 in new donations towards his GoFundMe account. Aidan “Turtleboy” Kearney placed second for the day with $25.00 in new donations towards his defend Free-Speech fund.
No other campaigns that we follow saw new donations for the day.
ReallyCoolNews will be livestreaming during the hearing with our reporter JudyYouGotThis expected to be live from outside the courthouse during breaks from the hearing. Our coverage will begin at Noon ET.
[Full disclosure: Mr. Myers has both threatened to sue and/or to file an injunction against ReallyCoolNews.
