Those following the saga of James “James Freeman” Springer over the past few months were treated to new updates on his ongoing legal matters on Friday as Springer successfully asked for the replacement of the new Judge assigned to the lawsuit and had his Friday hearing delayed due to the illness of his attorney.
Springer was famously arrested in May following a domestic violence incident at his home and a low-speed police chase. The activist and YouTuber initially sat in the Pima County Adult Detention Complex for a good portion of May before allowing his friends to organize a GoFundMe campaign for his release to pay his bond that was set at $40,000.00.
While Springer initially faced multiple felonies for the incident, his charges were later reduced and Springer successfully petitioned to have his bond greatly reduced.
He is currently facing charges of:

On July 20, 2026, the case was reassigned to Judge Catherine M. Woods. Springer used his one “get out of judge free card” under Arizona’s Rules of Criminal Procedure 10.2 to ask for a replacement of Woods with a new judge.
Wednesday saw the assignment of Judge Howard Fell to handle the case going forward.
Springer then sought to delay his pre-trial conference, which was set for Friday due to the illness of his attorney, Ryan LaMaster, Esq. That delay was granted on Friday and Springer’s new court date for the hearing is now August 6, 2026.
There’s still interest in Springer’s ongoing GoFundMe campaign as he took in $10.00 towards that campaign for Friday, bringing his yearly total to $71,956.00.
SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes won the day with $1,300.00 in new donations to his Support The Fight Against Tyranny and Corruption GoFundMe campaign. YouTuber Christopher “Direct D” Ruff’ placed second with $175.00 in new donations, while Springer placed third for the day.
Springer took in no new donations for Saturday, as our own Ongoing Expenses campaign won the day with $1,251.00 in new donations Ruff’s GiveSendGo campaign placed second with $170.00 in new donations and Jose “Chille” DeCastro placed third with $20.00 in new donations to his Help Me Defend My Constitutional Rights GoFundMe campaign.
For the month of July, DeCastro brought in $8,955.00 split between his Constitutional Rights campaign and his now defunct Help Me Finish YouveGotBal and Protect the Technology campaign.
Reyes placed second with $2,788.00 divided between his Support The Fight Against Tyranny, Detained for MY Rights – Continuing the Fight for OUR Rights and We the People vs. Police Union Power campaigns.
Our own Ongoing Expenses fund placed third with $1,691.00 in new donations for the month.
Lane Myer’s GiveSendGo placed fourth with $1,067.00 in new donations, while Christopher “Direct D” Ruff’s ex-girlfriend Heather Russell placed fifth with $645.00 in new donations towards her Help Heather and her son start over safely GoFundMe campaign.
The top ten was rounded out by Springer’s GoFundMe ($530.00), the ongoing campaign for Luis “The Real Constitutional Upholders” Johnson ($370.00), Angel “Kansas City Accountability” Moses ($260.00), Ruff’s own GiveSendGo campaign ($175.00) and the First Amendment Protection Agency ($160.00).
