YouTube sensation Jose “Chille” DeCastro surprised no one over the weekend as he immediately back tracked on his promise that all of his YouTube content was “open source,” continued to e-beg for money to pay for a high powered lawyer, made strange comments about trans people and, of course, asked for another sixty day delay in filing his opening brief in his appeal of a Federal court loss to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department earlier this year.
DeCastro originally sued the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department back in 2023 after being arrested for charges of obstructing a police officer and interfering in a crime scene. The lawsuit finally went to trial in February of this year and DeCastro quickly appealed the verdict.
The diminutive YouTuber has stated that he needed to delay the appeal as he could not afford the transcript of the lawsuit that he said he needed to file with the opening brief. He has since unsuccessfully attempted to crowd source for the $3,500.00 he claimed he needed for transcripts.
No reason was given for the delay by DeCastro’s attorney, Michael Me, as the document was a direct repurpose of the first extension asked for in the case, which was granted earlier this year:
Pursuant to Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 26(b) and Ninth Circuit Rule 31-2.2(b), Appellant Jose DeCastro respectfully moves this Honorable Court for an order extending the deadline for the filing of the opening brief and the excerpts of record by sixty (60) days, from the present due date of July 27 2026, to and including September 27, 2026.
This matter has been pending before this Court, and one prior extension was granted during the course of meditation. The parties thereafter engaged in mediation proceedings under the supervision of the mediation program, which subsequently ended without an agreement having been reached.
Counsel for Appellant has previously sought an extension of the briefing schedule by formal motion, which was granted once, setting a new due date of July 27, 2026. Appellant has asked this Court, by motion under Circuit Rule 31-2.2(b), to enlarge the time within which to file the opening brief.
For the foregoing reasons, and upon the matters set forth in the accompanying Declaration of Counsel, Appellant respectfully prays that this Honorable Court enter its order extending the deadline for the filing of the opening brief and the excerpts of record to and including September 27, 2026.

In other DeCastro news, he apparently forgot his statement that all of his content was now “open source” as he threatened to sue an unspecified YouTube “troll” during a livestream over the weekend.
The inventor of the jock sock lashed out at said “troll,” claiming that a court had recently changed the rules regarding copyright and artificial intelligence. He said that the person was using his voice and promised that he would be suing that person for use of his voice without his permission.
This came just days after he had told all of his viewers that everyone, specifically stating “even the trolls” had his permission to use his content with his permission and implying that he would not be defending his copyright as he had done in the past.
DeCastro himself continued his new endless cycle of late night “give aways” of his product, where he stays online until he achieves a set goal of giveaways of his trifold product. Those giveaways, of course, are accompanied by the catch that they have to be funded by someone else buying a trifold product from his website.
The failed Power Ranger has been going live at 2AM ET each night and staying until he meets his sales goal. His most recent stream ending after nearly 5 hours of sales with the strange declaration that Michelle Obama could not be a “trans female” as he had never been “fooled” by a trans person.
DeCastro was responding to a comment in his side chat, which repeated a right-wing talking point accusing the former first lady of having gender reassignment surgery, with her daughters being secretly adopted.
The YouTuber took it upon himself to declare that he had a lot of encounters with trans people and that he had never been “fooled” by someone who either had gender reassignment surgery or were portraying themselves as another sex.
He stated that he could just “tell” when someone either had the surgery or was portraying themselves as a different sex. In the strangest humble brag, he admitted that he had lived in Las Angeles for “twenty-five years” and had multiple encounters including with those persons identified as “lady boys” and had “never been fooled.”
DeCastro ended the stream by claiming that he was not gay and that if he was gay, he would be openly admitting to having his boyfriend. He said that it was “strange” how people wanted to assign him an identity before ending the livestream.
The YouTuber is expected to livestream again tomorrow morning.
