Like an old condition thought to be cured by penicillin, one king of all first amendment auditing, Glenn Cerio has made his ugly return to the auditing world in a less than spectacular fashion with three videos this week featuring a kinder, gentler, Glenn Cerio than the world had previously known.
Cerio dominated the world of auditing with his confrontational style before Jose “Chille” DeCastro’s rise to prominence, sucking the life out of the genre. He was known for a confrontational style which saw him challenge those who would resist his efforts with threats to “sweep” their legs and to defeat them in “mutual combat.”
His threats led to arrests and his arrests led to more bad behavior, including an incident in Washington State where his chat room had encouraged bad behavior. Cerio was walking outside of a gated area around a private police parking lot when he attempted to film a an officer entering the area while acting suspiciously.
While the officer entered the parking lot without incident, Cerio’s chat was further egging him on with donations. Cerio was begging for donations to do more bad behavior and declared himself a god when police came out from the building and arrested him, which resulted in an “ut-oh” by Cerio that was heard around the world.
Cerio would eventually have all of his pile up and while a handful of them were dismissed, he would end up doing five days in a Washington State jail in 2022 before disappearing from the auditing world for about a year.
He’d reemerge in 2024 as a disciple of Jose “Chille” DeCastro, threatening to file federal lawsuits that went nowhere against police organizations and towns in Washington State and then, for some strange reason, in small claims court.
His targets included critic Tella Cline, who he sued for identity theft, fraud and stalking with malicious intent in Snohomish County, Washington. Cerio lost that case and then reported Cline to police as “brandishing a weapon” towards him when she exited the courthouse.
Cerio did the occasional audit in 2025, including an audit of a “No More Kings” rally in April of that year and a strange incident where he disrupted a job fair in March of 2025. While he was more aggressive in his style in the early part of the year, by the few videos released towards the end of the year, Cerio was passive at best, becoming an observer in his own videos.
That style continued in his three videos released this week as often, the only sounds he makes during the 10-minute videos are the sounds of his labored breathing as he walks. His interaction with police now a hello and a few non-controversial greetings while staying more than 20 feet away from the accident or crime scenes that he filmed.
Cerio addressed his fans on Thursday’s video, saying that a few people had asked him to start “recording” again and admitting that it’s been a little while since he’s put out content. He then tried to convince his “trolls” that he drove a new Ford Ranger that was parked illegally on a Seattle area side street before shambling off land ending the video.
While it is unclear if Cerio has indeed returned to the auditing world full time, we will continue to monitor the situation in Seattle as Cerio ponders his return.
