Update: Since this story went live, new documents reveal that Myers was successful in having Judge Griffin removed from the case. He was replaced by Judge D. Douglas Metcalf, who sentenced Myers to jail last year in the same case. Griffin’s hearing for July 24 has been vacated, the other deadlines remain.
‘Attorney’ Lane Myers will be representing client Lane Myers on Thursday as reporter Lane Myers went strangely quiet on Wednesday after Lane Myers, the Experience, was apparently picked up by probation during a live stream and was held overnight without bond.
According to reports by Josh “This is a Public Service” Gray on his YouTube community page, who Myers had been blocked from contacting as part of his probation conditions, Myers was picked up as “THEY SAY THAT @reluctantphrophet AND I HAVE BEEN COMMENTING IN THE LIVE CHAT! EVEN IF THIS WAS TRUE, WTF DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH HIM? SOUNDS LIKE THE WORK OF THE GAY MALE CHATROOM.”
Gray would make a second post confirming that Myers had been taken into custody by probation and was currently on a no bond hold at the Pima County Adult Detention Center. He then gave out Myers’ inmate ID to put money on his books for phone calls along with a link to his GiveSendGo account.
That GiveSendGo account made $20.00 in new donations for Thursday. Jose “Chille” DeCastro’s newly created Help Me Defend My Constitutional Rights fund brought in $1,563.00 to win the day, followed by $100.00 to both Angel “Kansas City Accountability” Moses and our own On-Going Expenses fund. SeanPaul Reyes rounded out the day with $25.00 to his We the People vs. Police Union Power and $50.00 in new donations to his Support the Fight Against Tyranny & Corruption Fund.
The “Gay Male Chat Room” is what Myers calls “the Lane Myers Experience 2 Point Ooooooh” forum on the ReallyCoolNewsWire Discord server. Myers had previously visited the server last month before being blocked for attacking and degrading fellow chatters. He has since blamed the server for all of his legal problems.
That said, those on the server seemed as surprised as Myers as his Wednesday live stream abruptly ended after he was in the process of threatening various workers at the Arizona Prosecuting Attorneys’ Advisory Council with legal action over their failure to meet a self-imposed deadline to provide him with FOIA requests.
When Myers did not return to streaming, ReallyCoolNews started checking VineLink and the Pima County Adult Detention Center’s website and Myers would eventually show up as being held without bond.
Myers made have been aware of possible legal action as he scrubbed his livestreams of all previous livestream, including those where he threatened YouTuber Merb34st, ReallyCoolNews and our reporter, JudyYouGotThis.
Calls by JudyYouGotThis to local police and the courts in Pima County resulted in the news that he would be held overnight, with the date and time of his initial appearance in his bond revocation hearing to be announced on Thursday.
It is unclear whether Myers will remain in custody until the hearing, or if authorities will release him until that date. The reports by Gray indicate that Myers may be in custody for quite some time.
This is a breaking news story.
[Full disclosure: Mr. Myers has both threatened to sue and/or to file an injunction against ReallyCoolNews. If you’d like to contribute to our fund set up to fight possible legal action/keep the lights on/keep the cats fed, our GoFundMe is located at https://www.gofundme.com/f/reallycoolsite-ongoing-expenses.]
