Jose “Chille” DeCastro, renowned “thought leader” followed through on his recent promise to never go into a criminal case again without being represented by “the best attorneys” by hiring the firm of May & Associates to handle his charges of molesting a police vehicle in Oklahoma.

Jock sock inventor DeCastro was charged last year following an incident in Duncan, Oklahoma, last year when he filmed himself pulling on the door handles of police vehicles in the Duncan police’s private parking lot.

DeCastro said his powers as a first amendment auditor gave him the right to test the vehicles to see if he could access improperly stored weapons within the vehicles during the incident, which was livestreamed to his nearly 700,000 followers.

He was not arrested at the time of the incident and later filed suit against the Duncan police department and district attorney handling the case when he received his notice that there were three warrants for his arrest in December of last year.

DeCastro originally filed in California court, asking to suspend the charges against him until the civil lawsuit was resolved. The California court rejected that proposal and eventually would move the case to Oklahoma at DeCastro’s request.

While that lawsuit has been fairly quiet, with DeCastro offering no proof of service to any of the defendants and receiving an extension until June 15, 2026, to serve the defendants, which he missed.

Defendant Suzannahe Smith responded on her own to the lawsuit with a motion to dismiss. That lawsuit is currently waiting on the judge to rule on DeCastro’s motion for leave to file a sur-reply to Smith’s motion to dismiss.

On the criminal side of things, DeCastro had been representing himself in the matter and failed to appear at a in person hearing in June to handle various motions he had filed with the court. He argued that he was improperly notified and that he could not afford travel costs, then demanded that the court suspended proceedings until such time as it could accommodate his request for a Zoom hearing.

With his Zoom hearing request denied, the court held his requested hearings without him and ruled against him.

DeCastro had been promising that there would be major developments in his Oklahoma case for some time now. The hiring of May & Associates was not disclosed to doners in his recent fundraising efforts for YouVeGotBail.AI.

As their first act on DeCastro’s behalf, May & Associates filed their entry of appearance, reasserted DeCastro’s fifth amendment rights and asked for all evidence that the prosecution has against their client in a single filing.

There have been significant questions about DeCastro’s YouVeGotBail.AI following his arrest in Las Vegas last week. DeCastro has yet to open a crowd sourcing campaign to raise money for his various criminal prosecutions.

While he is free from jail, never appearing in an Oklahoma court for arraignment and being released on a personal recognizance bond in Nevada, DeCastro has been selling YouVeGotBail.AI with the idea that the service would provide post-release services, including raising funds for on-going criminal defenses.

DeCastro’s abandonment of this process, having not mentioned the service since last week, has brought concern from some of his followers and may be a sign of larger problems with the fledgling service as a whole.

The diminutive YouTuber’s last remaining crowd sourcing campaign received no new donations for either Tuesday or Wednesday. Roy Tripoloni’s campaign for James Freeman won Tuesday, with $125.00 in new donations. That campaign was followed by Lane Myers’ GiveSendGo campaign, which pulled in $55.00. Our own Ongoing Expenses fund rounded out the day with $25.00 in new donations.

For Wednesday, the First Amendment Protection Agency won the day with $25.00 in new donations. Lane Myers’ GiveSendGo followed with a $15.00 donation. No other campaigns that we follow received donations for either day.
