According to published reports, YouTube Activist SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes was arrested on Thursday for trespassing at the Police Benevolent Association building in Brentwood, New York, after confronting union members.
Reyes allegedly confronted union members about a report that police who admitted to misconduct were allowed to stay on the force until their pensions started, according to PBA President Lou Civello.
The Suffolk Police Benevolent Association released a statement on Facebook following the incident, “Long Island Frauditor Sean Reyes decided to illegally trespass on private property today in an effort to intimidate and threaten members of the Suffolk PBA Board.
We will not be intimidated and this thug will not deter us from representing our police officers.”
According to fellow first amendment activist Leroy Truth, Reyes was in the process of being released on his own recognizance bond last night while his infamous billboard truck was being towed from the Suffolk Police Benevolent Association parking lot.
While Reyes has not released an official statement as of press time, he did create a GoFundMe with an extended statement about the incident:
I am an independent journalist running Long Island Audit, focused on government and police accountability. On June 25, 2026, I went to Suffolk PBA headquarters to get President Louis Civello on camera about ongoing controversies involving the union. When he told me it was private property, I said “no problem” and immediately backed out toward my vehicle while still filming — but I was grabbed, handcuffed so tight my fingers went numb, and arrested for criminal trespass. The property isn’t fenced or enclosed, and the statute requires it to be, but I was told to leave and continuously did so. I was held shackled to a table for six hours and released to find my billboard truck had been towed at the PBA’s request.
This follows a pattern: I have a pending civil rights case over an officer who I allege entered my property without a warrant and assaulted me, all on video, and I believe this arrest was retaliation for my journalism. The Suffolk PBA is a powerful police union with deep pockets and political connections, and I am facing mounting legal and financial challenges as a result of my work holding them accountable.
The funds raised here will go toward criminal defense on the trespass charge, civil rights and defamation attorney’s fees against the PBA, recovering my towed truck, and supporting my ongoing journalism and accountability reporting. I’m asking for your support because I can’t fight this alone. If you believe in government accountability, press freedom, and the right to ask hard questions without being arrested for it, please consider chipping in whatever you can and sharing this with others. Every dollar and every share helps me keep fighting back and keep doing this work. Thank you for standing with me.
While the GoFundMe has yet to have a donation, the creation of the GoFundMe continues a pattern by Reyes of using GoFundMe to raise funds off of what some have alleged to be planned incidents with police.
Even though Reyes recently retired seven of his then nine active GoFundMe campaigns, the YouTuber has raised $21,341.00 this year from campaigns.
Reyes’s arrest comes days after the Appeals Court for the Second Circuit determined that the public does not have a right to film inside of police precincts in New York State or City. Reyes had sued the State and City of New York following a 2023 arrest for trespassing based on the contention that “Right to Record” laws made it illegal to trespass him from the buildings.
While the case was sent down to the lower court to continue the lawsuit, Reyes had proclaimed that the lawsuit was effectively dead and reportedly encouraged his followers to secretly record while inside police facilities.
This is a breaking news story.
