DeCastro Does Damage Control in Laney Hudson Case

Jose “Chille” DeCastro would return with a hastily prepared live stream to update the case of Jacqueline “Laney” Hudson. In the video, DeCastro did not address his absence from the rally by the family in West Virginia the previous day and would attempt to play a new video provided by their family featuring their discussion with police as they attempted to protest in front of a police station.

DeCastro’s played the video on his computer rather than in his broadcasting software, resulting in complaints from his audience that the audio could not be heard. DeCastro would react to what he said was being said in the video with his normal hyperbolic statements against the police and would then mime his reactions to the gestures the police spokesman was making in the video.

The spectacle was frustrating for Jessica Slone, Hudson’s aunt, who was in DeCastro’s side chat during the broadcast, who sent audience members to her public facebook page to view the video with working audio.

The video, when played with audio, shows Hudson’s mother holding a sign and being told by police that they respected her right to protest but that she couldn’t do it in the street nor on their property. When she asked questions about the case, the police spokesperson said he could not answer most of her questions due to the active investigation of the incident and directed her to the prosecutor’s office in the case, who will be handling the investigation of officer Jeff Racer’s actions in the accident that claimed Hudson’s life.

Soon after the end of the broadcast, DeCastro’s DeleteLawZClips channel released “a stunning tribute to Laney Hudson,” a video slide show of Hudson, with the hashtag “#JISTICEFORLANEY.” Later, the same channel would release advertisements for DeCastro’s new merchandise store.
