Activist and YouTuber James “James Freeman” Springer had a big day on Wednesday as he had his bond reduced for the current charges he is facing in Pima County, Arizona, and fans were surprised when the news spread that Springer brought back his popular YouTube channel.
While the court minutes have not been released as of press time, our own reporter, JUDY YOUGOTTHIS, attended Wednesday’s hearing and brought the news that Springer’s wife Alicia asked the court to drop the protective order that’s been in place since the incident. She stated that mistakes were made by all parties in the incident and that she did not want to stand between Springer and contact with their children.
However, the Judge informed her that a protective order was required to stay in place during the trial as part of Arizona’s existing domestic violence laws. The Judge reminded her that she can only have contact with Springer through phone calls and e-mails which are about the needs of their shared children.
Mrs. Springer seemed to disregard the warning as she was spotted exiting the courtroom with Springer and riding in the same elevator with her husband.
The Judge was more lenient with Springer’s bond, questioning why the bond was initially set at $40,000.00. He granted Springer’s attorney’s request to lower the bond to $2,500.00 but warned that by lowering the amount, Springer would now have to take part in pre-trial services.
Springer’s attorney asked if Springer had permission to travel out of state and the Judge indicated that out of state travel would be up to a decision by pretrial services.
The attorney also announced that Springer intended to ultimately move his family out of state, with Texas being a preferred destination for the activist. The Judge reminded Springer that regardless of his living situation, he needed to appear for all future court dates.
Reporter Judy also took time to pick up a number of documents related to the case that were not available online. From these documents we have the probable cause statement that led to Springer’s arrest in early May:
On May 4, 2026, at approximately 2208 hours, James Alan Springer was engaged in a verbal argument with his wife, Alicia Springer, at their residence located at [redacted] in Sahuarita, located within Pima County. J. Springer and A. Springer were in a verbal altercation about J. Springer’s mental health. A. Springer was worried about his health, as he was unemployed and she had been working two jobs to support their family. During the verbal altercation, J. Springer became irate, throwing his personal cellphone at the oven’s glass door, shattering the glass door, while screaming. During the altercation, J. Springer had made threatening comments to A. Springer and their daughter, E. Springer, along the lines of, “Before I kill myself, I’m going to take her out (E. Springer) because she is a bratty, ungrateful. little bitch.” He also stated to A. Springer, “I’m also going to take you out as well.” While A. Springer were attempting to leave the residence through the garage door, J. Springer pushed his way through E. Springer, who was located within the threshold of the door. J. Springer then left the residence and was located at 795 W. Via Rancho Sahuarita Blvd; 7-Eleven. When officers attempted to make an investigative stop on J. Springer, he failed to stop, ultimately leading officers in a vehicle pursuit through multiple jurisdictions within Pima County. J. Springer’s vehicle was ultimately immobilized near the intersection of Twin Peaks and 110. Based on J. Springer willfully fleeing from pursuing law enforcement, he was charged for ARS 28-622.01 Unlawful Flight from Pursuing Law Enforcement. Due to J. Springer, carrying a deadly weapon while in the commission of carrying out a serious offense, he was charged with ARS 13-3102A1a Weapons Misconduct. Due to J. Springer by telling them if they contacted police, he was going to take both of them out while was J. Springer had his pistol with him at the time. Finally, J. Springer was charged with13-3601A1 113-1202A1 Domestic Violence/Assault due to him recklessly pushing E. Springer into a trash can in the garage causing her to fall to the ground as a result of his actions. J. Springer was charged with 13-2904A6 Disorderly Conduct for recklessly displaying the firearm on his hip while making multiple hand gestures, as if he was going to draw the firearm. J. Springer was also charged with 13-360141/13-2904A1 Disorderly Conduct for engaging in seriously disruptive behavior, disturbing the family.
The vast majority of the initial charges were not pursued, and Springer is now facing a single felony charge of unlawful flight from law enforcement and two misdemeanor courts of disorderly conduct, two misdemeanor counts of threatening and intimidation and a single misdemeanor account of criminal damage between $250.00 and $1,000.00.
Fans of Springer were also surprised by the return of his YouTube channel this week.
Springer made the decision purposely hide his YouTube channel and all the content on his channel around three months ago. There have been no public statements by Springer about his decision to remove the YouTube channel or the decision to revive the channel.
A persistent rumor was that the channel received a second content strike and the return after three months would coincide with the roughly ninety days would match up with the notion that his channel was purposely removed while he waited out the strike.
Again, that has not been confirmed nor has Springer made a public statement about either the removal of his channel from or return of the channel to YouTube.
The GoFundMe account associated with Springer has also won the previous two days in our crowdfunding tracking.
