Denver based free range grandmother and sometime activist for the homeless has one less duty to put beside her name as of Saturday afternoon as she announced that she was no longer acting as a spokesperson for YouTuber Luis “The Real Constitutional Upholders” Johnson.
Benson made her stunning announcement while standing in front of Denver’s Justice Center where Johnson had been released after nearly three days of custody for allegedly violating the protective order that has been in place against him after he allegedly shot someone earlier in the month, leading to his own shooting by police.
Johnson was picked up last week when the father of his victim saw Johnson at the Denver Health Medical Center when he was taking his son for treatment. According to Benson’s account, this was a violation even though Johnson was seeking treatment for his own gunshot wounds and had originally been treated at Denver Health.
After Johnson was picked up last week by police, there seemed to be confusion within the prosecutor’s office as Johnson was originally given a personal recognizance bond that was later turned into a $2,000.00 cash bond according to court records.
Benson’s account of the situation put blame on a Judge Patricia “Dumb Evil Stupid Bitch” Matuszak, who openly complained about the size of her docket and was “forced” to come back to the bench after canceling Johnson’s Saturday hearing in order to let Johnson out of custody.
Following Johnson’s release, Benson said that she gave Johnson her personal body worn camera before returning to chalking insults directed at her “Shit List” of Judges outside of the Justice Center.
Records searches for a “Judge Patricia Matuszak” returned no results, despite Benson’s assurances that the judge was popular as she is known as “Tish who pinches her tits.”
Benson’s decision to stop publicly supporting Johnson was apparent at the start of Saturday’s livestream. She stopped her moderators from distributing the GoFundMe links to Johnson’s crowd sourcing campaign.
She then thanked YouTuber San Joaquin Valley Transparency for being the only YouTuber who came to her aid during the ordeal she faced while supporting Johnson. She said that she had selflessly put aside her own problems to focus on supporting Johnson and received no support from anyone within the First Amendment auditing community.
While she did not disparage Johnson in her statement, she indicated that all future updates must be found by those visiting the Denver court system’s website and searching for Johnson or through Johnson’s own account of what was going on with his cases.
Benson has proved to be controversial in her time as unofficial spokesperson for Johnson. Her constant attacks on Judges, police, fellow YouTubers, her viewers and anyone else she apparently felt was not 100% behind her causes have apparently hindered the ability to fundraise for Johnson.
Johnson’s fundraiser also came at a time where a fundraiser for James “James Freman” Springer raised nearly $70,000.00 in under a week for the now freed former YouTuber.
Benson was openly frustrated with the outpouring of support for Springer, who is facing domestic violence charges, while Johnson’s campaign has raised a little under $1,500.00 in the same time period despite her attempts to frame Johnson’s story as an innocent man who was shot police in “self-defense.”
Johnson’s campaign has brought in no money for the extended Memorial Day weekend, which was slow for Monday as only the campaign devoted to Springer bringing in new donations for the day.
That campaign brought in $16.00 for the day, it’s lowest total in the roughly two weeks that the campaign has been active. No other campaigns that we follow saw donations for the day.
