YouTuber Regan Benson addressed her outraged fans in a livestream outside of the courthouse on Thursday immediately following her conviction for violating Colorado Revised Statute 18-9-313(2.7), taking responsibility for her actions and telling her fans that her attorney was blameless for the loss as the trial was fixed.
Benson attacked the jury multiple times in her 30+ minute address to the fans. She attacked the Court itself as the jurors were given free lunch from Jimmy Johns on the first day of the trial, but the judge said that the court was not providing lunch on day two. This was apparently, according to Benson planned, since the final day of witnesses, closing arguments and jury instructions wrapped up around lunchtime.
Benson said that the jury was more focused on taking a lunch break than considering her fate and made it clear that she felt that the fix was in as they ultimately took their lunch break and only took “twenty minutes” to determine her guilt.
She even implied that the act of two young women on the jury of smiling at her as they were leaving the courtroom on Thursday was a sign of aggression towards her as part of a bigger conspiracy.
The YouTuber said that there was one member of the six-person jury that she singled out for swaying the other members. She said that this person was responsible for turning jury members she felt were a solid “not guilty vote” against her.
She summed up the jury as people who were dependent on the system and then implied that the jury had been loaded against her. Benson backed this theory by stating that Denver mayor Mike Johnston’s wife works in the District Attorney’s office and could have easily loaded the jury against her.
Benson then continued her attacks on the judge in the case, who she claimed was incompetent, biased towards her, and had been recruited from foreclosure court, which meant that he hated certain classes of people; implying that he disliked and had a bias ag against anyone who worked with the homeless.
She said that his bias was on display throughout the two-day trial and his rulings against Benson’s attorney and by preventing certain lines of questioning demonstrated that bias. She said it was his actions that made up for the incompetence of the prosecutors, who did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.
Benson bragged that she would likely not see jail time for “years” as in Denver, a misdemeanor offense was immediately suspended while the appeals process took place. Reminding her fans that appeals took “years,” she indicated that she would likely prevail upon appeal and implied that she wouldn’t see actual punishment for her actions.
She again stated that the police were out to end her life, would continue to put her in jail for minor offenses when she did nothing wrong, and would show the obvious signs that the system itself was corrupt and working against her.
At no time did she take any responsibility for her actions, calling any fear shown by Police Commander Joel Bell an act as she has never advocated for violence and indicating that her followers were peaceful people who were in on the joke she made about the “pig roast” at the commander’s house.
Benson feigned fear of having to report to the building housing the parole department for her intake evaluation. She said she would be bringing her attorney with her for the screening process and said that it was horrible that she would have to go to a building that housed “real criminals” for the intake, as she was innocent.
The sometime advocate for the homeless and free-range Grandma is due back in court on May 8, 2026, for sentencing. She faces up to a year in jail or a $1,000.00 fine or both.

Wow denial is not just a river. She is not guilty, wont serve a day in jail and even then she did nothing wrong. It was all a fix, the judge was incompetant and bias, so too were the fixed jury and it was all due to no lunch?
And she considered herself rational? All she did was rant on about how not guilty she was when to all observers include 6 people who knew nothing about her, what she did was wrong. Her followers are all in on it? Really? Then why is it she had one of her followers arrest for stalking her. So all of them are none violent except just one?
She does not want to go near the parole department because most of thise people also have anger management problems and if she were to go off on one of them, they might, unlike the police she abuses, go off on her.
I dont think she gets the actually message now. She is a convicted criminal. All for chalk. She may lose a year of her life, all to make chalk drawing to harass a cop. Is that worth it? Who knows, she seems unrepentant. They say prison changes people… we shall see if that is the case in her.
Don’t do the crime if you cannot do the time.
In her case, FAFO, actions have consequences and not just this trial. Forever more, any application that she does for a job, in some states for a loan, every time she is ask have you ever been convicted of a crime, she will have to say yes. In Florida, because of course it happens in Florida, the question is, have you ever been arrested. She will still have that stigma and in American culture, it is a stigma. Now her husband is rich and pays the bills so it is not likely she will need to get a job any time soon, so this should not effect her to any large amount, but still. How many frauditors are seen online crying about their rights in so many videos only to post a video on how hard it is to get a job. How they have to change cities or change states in order to just make a living? All because of the silly things they do for clicks and views.
In the end, they would rather make things up. the jury was bias cause they had no lunch the second day, the mayors wife works somewhere so she can fix the jury, the DA was against her cause they had a bad hair day. On and on and on. The excuse all show a lack of remorse and clear lack of maturity. She did the crime, she did it on video tape. She was found guilty. When she appeals, the chances are about 1 in 10 to 1 in 20 that it will succeed. Remember the legal standard at this point for appeal is not did she do that. The jury, finder of facts, have ruled that she in fact did the crime. The only matter now is to show an error in law. Good luck with that.
The jury has to elect a foreperson. That takes a few minutes at least. oh about 19 min… the last minute was voting and you know counting to 6 can take time. You need to use both hands. And it might have been in the shadows so they would have to figure it out in the dark. Oh wait, they may have been provided with indoor lights, ALL in and effort to frame her. It was ALL a conspiracy against her, They did not even get LUNCH OMG!!!
Yes, 20 minutes, was the jury taking their time. She broke the law, she recorded herself doing the crime and published it on YT and yet she finds she was framed! Sorry she was FRAMED, FRAMED!
The worst part is forever more she will have a criminal record. I doubt she will get much time if any for this in prison. But the rest of her life she will be a convicted criminal. In the USA that is a stigma that causes so many people to live a life of crime. Something like 71% of criminals will re-offend in the 5 years after being convicted. So her chances of going back in are not in her favor.
And all for clicks and views?
How very sad for her family.
Is that your grandma getting arrested again?
