Sometime grandmother and free range homeless activist Regan Benson returned to Lone Tree, Colorado on Tuesday with yet another visit to the Lone Tree police department that ended in another live streamed shouting match.

Benson started the live stream by explaining that she was in Lone Tree to get the court documents from Monday’s hearing in the case of the undocumented woman who allegedly hit Benson’s SUV last fall before fleeing the accident scene.

According to Benson, the woman accepted a plea deal on Monday and avoided a moving violation conviction and did not have to appear before a judge. Benson was infuriated by this development and was attempting to get the woman charged with new offenses based on the alleged mishandling of the case by Lone Tree police.

Benson has been a regular at the Lone Tree police department since the incident with a mix of positive and negative interactions with staff. On one occasion, as she was attempting to contact the insurance company who issued the policy the woman would eventually give police, a police sergeant told Benson that he had made contact with the insurance company and they had confirmed the policy was active.

The YouTuber then revealed that she recently received a letter from the same company that informed her that the woman did not have an active insurance policy with that company at the time of accident.

Benson had asked for police Professional Standards Commander Tim Beals when she checked into the building. She told her fans that Beals had not responded to a recent e-mail and she had come to see him for an update based on that lack of response.

When Beals arrived in the lobby, Benson immediately confronted him about the lack of reply. He explained that he had nothing new for her as the district attorney’s office had not confirmed the information that he was seeking. He agreed with her that he should have sent her a tentative e-mail explaining that and apologized for not replying in a timely manner.

Beals said that while he hadn’t heard from the district attorney’s office, if the woman had indeed taken a plea deal, the woman could not be charged with anything else due to double jeopardy rules.

Benson escalated the situation, demanding the $10.35 that she was charged for a records request during her last visit to Lone Tree. Beals said that he couldn’t do that as she was charged for a legitimate transaction. Benson screamed that he was there to take her complaint, Beals told her goodbye and walked off.

Benson told her growing audience that she was going to sit in the lobby until someone took her complaint and tell her if that complaint would result in new charges against the woman.

Almost immediately, Benson got up from her spot and went to the window to the City Clerk’s office, which was in the same lobby. She obtained the future dates of the Lone Tree city council meetings and confirmed that she could sign up same day to make a comment during the public feedback portion of the meeting.

On her way out of the building Benson spotted a vehicle in the parking lot that looked like a police cruiser but was marked “community safety.” Benson walked up to the car and began screaming at the community safety worker sitting in the vehicle that she wanted some “community service.”

The man largely ignored her until two police officers came into the parking lot and the man managed to drive off. Benson again escalated the situation, screaming at the officer until Commander Beals came out of the building.

With Beals distracting Benson, the other officers left the parking lot. Beals would eventually leave and Benson would end the livestream in an empty parking lot.
