The loss by self-proclaimed constitutional law scholar Jose “Chille” DeCastro last Friday drove the YouTuber and inventor of the jock sock into seclusion as he works on his “technology” project and devotes his efforts to his seven other federal lawsuit, including a second go-round at the Las Vegas Metro Police Department.

DeCastro’s second lawsuit was motivated by an arrest two years ago when DeCastro was directed through police tape by a police officer past established press lines to get a better view of a fatal vehicle crash on the strip in Las Vegas.

Instead, DeCastro proceeded to walk directly to assembled police officers who had been working the scene. DeCastro turned what he implied was press coverage into a full blown first amendment audit, berating the officers and ignoring commands to leave the area.

Ultimately, he was taken into custody.

While in custody, DeCastro says that a supervising officer warned the officers on scene that he was a “super well-known auditor” and that it would be “best to leave him alone” but the officers disregarded that advice and booked him into jail.

DeCastro’s claim states that the crime scene was not active as the officers were in the process of wrapping up their investigation. Despite the officers on scene apparently not having any clue to who he was, he says that it was a retaliatory arrest loosely based on his previous arrest in the area 11 months prior.

He’s seeking:

Compensatory damages in an amount to be determined at trial, including but not limited to damages for emotional distress, humiliation, loss of liberty. chilling of First Amendment activity, economic losses resulting from Defendants’ conduct, and distress caused by the forced separation from Plaintiff’s dog;

Punitive damages against each individual Defendant in an amount sufficient to deter future unconstitutional conduct;

Declaratory judgment that Defendants’ conduct violated Plaintiffs rights under the First, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendments to the United States Constitution;

 Injunctive relief requiring LYMPD and Clark County lo implement mandatory training on the First Amendment rights of journalists and members of the public to film police activity. on crime scene perimeter limitations, on the obligation to review readily available exculpatory evidence before completing custodial arrests, and on de-escalation;

Strangely, despite representing himself in the matter, he’s also demanding reasonable attorney’s fees and costs pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1988:

To many, including popular YouTuber Merb34st, it appears that DeCastro has essentially cloned both his actions at his previous arrest and his previous lawsuit without learning from his loss in court last week.

His actions in both his own video and the bodycam videos from the police on the scene present him as the aggressor, barking out orders and standing up against multiple police officers directing him out of the area.

Last week he complained loudly about suing large groups of police officers and for using a ‘failure to intervene” claim, which allowed those same police officers to take the stand and has filed another lawsuit with both. DeCastro showed that he was unlikeable enough against an overwhelming witness list of police officers, to lose the jury before even taking the stand.

While all might not be lost for DeCastro, it is noted that it was determined that police had probable cause to arrest him on scene while the charges were ultimately dropped against him. DeCastro’s challenge of probable cause was at the heart of his arguments in the previous case, despite the judge ruling that it had no bearing on the lawsuit.

DeCastro went into planned seclusion on Friday following the loss, as he had previously said he was going to a private location to work on his bail bondsman related project (which he calls “technology”), which as been nicknamed “You’ve Got Bail” by observers.

He has made no further public comments on his loss.

As expected, the end of his trial brought a substantial decline in donations to his GoFundMe endeavors.

On Sunday, DeCastro’s Stand with Chille, Delete Lawz, Federal Trial Feb 9, 2026 fund brought in $200.00 to take the day. SeanPaul “Long Island Audit” Reyes’s Detained for MY Rights – Continuing the Fight for OUR Rights fund placed second with $114.00 in new donations.

Monday bought in $25.00 in new donations towards Reyes’s Support The Fight Against Tyranny & Corruption! Campaign. The First Amendment Protection Agency came in second with $5.00 in new donations to his ILLEGAL ARREST DEFENSE FUND!!! Campaign, while Frauditor Troll’s Troll’s Help us Fight this anti-free speech retaliation lawsuit placed third with $3.00 in conversion rate change adjustments.

Tuesday saw Reyes’s Help Me Fight These Unlawful Charges & Injustice fund pull in $20.00 in new donations. Frauditor placed second with -$24.00 due to conversion rate changes between CAD and USD.

The First Amendment Protection Agency took Wednesday with $64.00 in new donations.

Finally, that same fund won Thursday with $80.00 in new donations, Reyes’s Detained for MY Rights fund placed second with $45.00 in new donations and Frauditor Troll lost another $2.00 in conversion rate declines.
